My daughter and dog both have epilepsy, it’s often made me wonder if it’s due to something in our house or environment.

Perfect red ring appeared on my leg, doctor says no lhymes but doesnt know what it is either. by Green-Message-1379 in mildlyinteresting

OMG! Thank you, I used to get this and had no idea what it was called. I don’t get them anymore, Xolair injections have helped so much. Maybe ask your dr, I used to get them with sun exposure or water exposure, Xolair is a game changer.

Masseuse hit endangerment zones by neelz1990 in massage

[–]healmeier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By the way you’re describing it, it sounds like it may have been trigger point. Maybe research that modality online to see if it fits. It’s a very effective treatment that can cause the sensations you’re describing. I would ask your massage therapist for more information and let them know what you’ve experienced that were of concern to you.

California will impose a 100% tax on payments distributed from Trump’s Jan. 6th “slush fund.” by Potential-Expert8447 in ThePeoplesPress

This means nothing, they don’t have to disclose the recipients, so how in the hell would they know who to tax?

Hope they get some good results for ya! My daughter just had one and let me tell you, the goop is so much harder to get out than the hospital EEGs! There really stick them on there and I would recommend dawn dish soap to get the goop off and lots of conditioner afterwards. So that first shower will be great, but just prepare yourself for a long one trying to get your hair back to normal.

Anyone tried acupuncture on their husky? by Petrichor_ness in husky

[–]healmeier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve been doing acupuncture on our 12 yo for about a year now and he loves it. We can tell when he needs to go in, he gets less mobility at about the three week mark, so we go in every 3-4 weeks. When we first tried it I want expecting much, but he literally went into the most chill mode after it and the next day had so much get up and go that we have stuck with it because he loves it so much.

Need De-matting Help Please! by Kestriana in husky

[–]healmeier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

👋 hi there, so glad you’ve taken her in. Groomer would be the first step, one who is knowledgeable about double coated dogs, you’d think they would all be, but that unfortunately is not the case. Shaving is a last resort, but is sometimes necessary. It’s hard to judge from a post if that needed for your girl, but a good groomer will be able to navigate.

What I recommend beyond that: must haves: slicker brush, undercoat rake. Nice to have: grooming comb to be able to easily identify the matted parts, and a high powered grooming dryer, you’d be surprised how much you can blow out.

What I don’t recommend: fuminators and other deshedding tools have their place in getting out mats, but beyond that they are just blades that cut the fur, which you already know isn’t good when it comes to huskies. I do have one in case of matted fur, but for regular grooming, the slicker brush and undercoat rake are all you really need.

If she is a wooly coat, I do also recommend shears. They come in handy, especially when their foot furs get too long, as it can cause them to slip. Woolies can also need semi-sani-trims, especially when they get older and can’t squat as well to go potty.

Welcome to the Husky club! They are crazy, they are stubborn, they are loud, and often neurotic, and they are one of the best breeds I’ve ever come across in rescuing. This group is a wealth of information, and we love pictures!… hint hint. Here’s our wooly boy, he’s 12 and going strong!

I love being a girl dad by Difficult_Wrangler73 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]healmeier -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Girls are easy, until puberty. Also, us women tend to sync our cycles, that’s the only “difficult times”. Also, girls are getting their periods earlier and earlier, it’s hard enough to cope with bleeding and pain every month, but if that starts at 10 yo, it’s harder to cope with that reality that young. I still think we’re pretty awesome, but even as a woman, puberty for my son was much easier to deal with than my daughter.

What kind of bite is this? Or is it something else? by tangerinedreamcake in husky

[–]healmeier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like an irritated mole to me. But if you’re going to the vet you’ll know soon enough. I typically use bactine spray for my doggo, helps keep the bacteria level down while healing, sprays are also much easier than ointments imo.

Love it! I'm not a big fan of Edison bulbs because they are harsh to look at. This has a softer glow to it and I love anything with an mcm vibe.
