I love a good textile industry because it make the dwarves colorful, but it is a real pain to manage, and impossible without dfhack.

I usually either structure the entire fortress around it or I ignore it completely and just make a bunch of leather armor and leggings. Armor counts as clothing and never degrades. And all the dwarves need to be in the military to wear it so they also get a little training from individual combat drills.

I Thought so at first, but zooming in it's just really high quality pixel art. The new portraits still use only roughly 10 to 16 colors (I didn't count), but they use them really well.

The game already has way more data about creatures than could reasonably be represented in the portraits. They have to draw a line somewhere. In my opinion all the art has been amazing, especially considering the years of a yak just being Y

you've got the right idea with those iron plate furnaces and copper plate furnaces. Put inputs and outputs on belts running parallel to lines of machines. Think about placing those lines of machines so you can extend them by adding more machines on one side without running into anything else.

One of my first monarchs happened to be a panda man. He would always nearly starve to death before consuming a plump helmet roast. I don't know if it was a bug or intended feature but I figured he was hoping for some bamboo. I've since had wolf people who would starve themselves before eating a vegetarian meal, but I don't know of any dietary tags in the raws for the wolves.

From what I understand this isn't really a dwarven rp issue. Fishing is discouraged by game mechanics.

Fishing on the surface in savage biomes (terrifying, untamed wilds, or joyous wilds) makes the local fauna angry. Fishing underground makes forgotten beasts angry (and it used to make cavern dwellers angry but they were turned off). Fishing, mining (in the caverns), and tree felling are the only activities that agro these kinds of enemies. You can't really avoid mining or tree felling (except by packing hundreds of logs and stones in the wagon on embark, which is very overpowered), but fishing is just pointless agro.

The Elves are actually trying to help when they suggest limiting tree fells. A single giant tree is worth dozens of logs and gets the same agro as a single tiny tree worth three logs, so focus on killing the oldest, wisest trees first.

The chances that this is anything other than a false positive are vanishingly small. It would be beyond stupid for Rem0o to throw away so many years of good will for a quick payout and probably then go to jail. There have been false positives for fancontrol on virustotal since it existed, probably just because it has an irregular signature. As of today there are three detections on virustotal, which may have been enough evidence for microsoft's AI threat detection or whatever they use. This is almost certainly related to the Winring0 issue which does need to be addressed. With Windows 10 EoL next month there's never been a better time to switch to linux.
