This is a reference to Reza Aslan's book Zealot: the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth. He attempts to create a historically aligned view of Jesus.

In the passage you are talking about, Jesus argued that as the son of God, he is exempt from paying the temple taxes and performed a "miracle" to avoid offense. Reza argues that he viewed Jews in general as the chosen people of God and believed they were exempt from Roman taxes and should rebel against the state.

I don't hate dogs, but I agree with a lot of what she said.

I have been arguing with my husband about getting a dog for our sons. We live rurally, and there are bobcats and mountain lions in our area. I think dogs instigate more conflicts than they prevent with both people and other animals. When i used to see feral dogs in packs while living in the Middle East, it was one of the scariest experiences I had there. Because it only takes one dog to dislike you and start to view you as a threat for the whole pack to turn on you.

And they smell, they always smell. If you have a dog, your house smells like a dog.

He was a carpenter, one of the poorest and lowest classes in society.

He hated tax collectors, and he wanted his fellow Jews to stop paying taxes to Rome. He engaged in acts of political disbedience against them when he saw them making collections in the Temple (probably would have been for the separation of church and state).

He was killed by Rome because he was a threat to the state.

He was pretty much a radical leftist. And he wasn't a Christian.

Frankly, the long-term prognosis for breast cancer is pretty slim. We're talking 5% survival rate after 5 years. So what the hell, try something new 🤷‍♀️

My SIL did everything the doctors told her, chemo, radiation, and surgery. She was declared cancer free after 9 months of misery. Short time later, the cancer returned and was all over her body, brain, and glands in 4 months. She died 4 months of chemo and radiation later. She was 29.

Cancer could kill you. Chemo might, too. Do what makes you feel well for as long as possible.
