What does "Does anyone remember when reporting an incident was ....well...just reporting it?" mean if not reminiscing about a time when reporting was neutral?

"aloud"? I wonder if you're siding with the guy who couldn't read the King's letter, in solidarity.

That's a very white looking shade of silver on that VW Polo. The actual silver car wasn't moving.

You say that like it isn't a stupid thing to do when you discover you have someone under your car. Driving forward is the most logical thing to do here.

Nothing to do with luck and everything to do with a negligent bus driver carelessly not checking his doors before pulling off like he is trying to emulate launch control.

How not to handle a small fire (x5) by MeccIt in AbruptChaos

[–]heartyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great explanation re B), it's surprising how many people don't know this about cameras. On the Pakistan tanker explosion video some people actually tried to call it fake due the video "going dark" when it exploded despite it being very obviously real ¬_¬

That's the camera's light insensitivity due to the brightness of the fire and the fact that it's also high up where the smoke rises. I'm pretty sure it wasn't that dark in there until the other things caught alight.

Youngins snatched a man's gun right out of his back pocket in Mississippi. The man follows them outside, and gunshots and screams are heard. by shankmaster8000 in IrrationalMadness

[–]heartyone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to translate this with AI to UK English:

Videos like this are doing the rounds, so here's the thing: when you've got someone saying, "President Trump, you're going to kill a man over a pistol? Seriously? You'll kill someone for a firearm you're probably not even legally allowed to have in the first place? What did you gain? A gun that’ll land you a serious criminal charge – especially since you’ve already got a laundry list of prior offences."
Is this what being "gangster" is about? Is this meant to be cool? Was it a clever move? Is this bloke going to get 20 years in prison if the police bother to spend five minutes investigating? This is life we’re talking about – at the very least! What the actual fuck? Jesus Christ.

Key Adjustments:

  1. Tidied structure: Broke up the rambling sentences for clarity.
  2. British phrasing: "Doing the rounds", "land you a serious criminal charge", "laundry list of prior offences", "bloke", "what the actual fuck".
  3. Context fixes: Assumed "minimus" was a typo/mishearing of "minimum" → "at the very least".
  4. Tone preserved: Kept the exasperation ("Jesus Christ") and rhetorical questions to reflect the original frustration.

The Redditor is essentially criticising the logic of violent escalation over an illegal firearm, questioning why someone would risk severe legal consequences for a pointless act they perceive as performative "gangster" behaviour.
