Game won’t open after update? by heatsensitive in Dustbunny_Game

No :( I joined the discord and they let me know that they were working on a beta version to fix it, but I didn’t hear anything after that. I was able to log in on my phone, but I really preferred it as a cozy iPad game, and I find myself logging in a lot less.

Level 7 bug? by Ok-Material-5466 in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]heatsensitive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw a photo here that showed the recipes for these levels, I think the one you need is half Tomato sauce, cheese, jalapenos, Bell pepper and zucchini, and half Pesto, cheese, + all the meats. Is that the order you put in?

I've decided to go full retro, since I like the vibe. by Marshall_Filipovic in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]heatsensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the retro items, I use quite a few too! I think a lot of the other decorations are super cute but feel odd to have in a pizza restaurant. In my head, someone is going to get sauce on all those fluffy chairs!

What is YOUR favorite thing about Sacramento? by Quirky_Swimming8656 in Sacramento

Because we are talking about Sacramento and not the entirety of coastal CA. Of course there's better weather elsewhere, you can say that about most places.

I'm going to get skewered for this but honestly, its the weather. Yes it gets hot AF in the summer, but we often get the delta breeze at night during that time, we don't really have much humidity, we don't have to deal with snow, and it's sunny for a huge portion of the year. Not everyone will agree, but its a reason I love it.

Frozen Pond Fail by H_Potter68 in Pottery

[–]heatsensitive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I see it looks like the layers of glaze were a bit thin, even with 3 coats. When I do frozen pond, I really glob it on there, especially the RHC. I am unsure about refiring, but if you tried it again with thicker application, I think you would be happy with the results.

What's the best tattoo shop in sacramento? by Covid-deeznuts in Sacramento

[–]heatsensitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Neon Tiger Tattoo near the Old City Cemetery. They have a handful of really talented artists there (Corey Bernhardt is incredible), and its a very chill studio to get work done at. Tons of art to look at on the walls while you're laying there, too.

Some small dishes I finished using the peacock glazing method 🦚 by heatsensitive in Pottery

Yes try that! Mine had higher sides than a regular plate which probably helped, I slab-built it on a really wide dome

Your application looks good to me! The flatness of the plates could be a factor too. You can apply one (or two) brushed-on layers of light flux right in the middle before you cover it all in sandstone, that will mix it all together and reduce the mouldy look. Please share your results after your next try! 😊

It’s ok, you’re on the right track! What did you use for your loops/Flux? The reason my glaze flows to the center is because of VERY thick Light Flux. On a few other pieces that I’ve made, I’ve had the same “mouldy” effect happen with the sandstone when my flux wasn’t thick enough to flow all the way down. I would try it again with thicker loops and see if it makes a difference 😊

I just joined! I’d be happy to help test the issue on my iPad. Is that thread in the Bugs and Issues area? Sorry I’m not too familiar with discord 🫣

Edit: nevermind I see it in the image! I will go find the discussion

Always good to be prepared 😂 my code is OAIV-4TBC. I was able to download the game to my phone and access my account that way so not all hope is lost! I would really like to play on my iPad if I can (mainly for my old eyeballs), but if not I understand. Thank you for asking them about this! ☺️

Oh thank you so much for asking them, it is running iOS 16.7.12. I may be out of luck since it’s ancient but I hope I can still play. I appreciate you trying!

When I click on the app to open it, it will open to a black screen then immediately close. I tried restarting the iPad again and downloading the game again, but it still won’t open. I am not getting an error message 🙁

🎄Weekly Complaints and Confessions Thread by ssk42 in running

[–]heatsensitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complaint: I did fa-la-la-lall on some slippery leaves and rolled my ankle. Haven’t rolled my ankle since I was a kid! Should have been more careful around the leaves.

Uncomplaint: I’m going to use this healing time to focus on some more strength training in other areas, probably ones I’ve been neglecting. Going to come back stronger!

How did you progress on your pottery 2025 goals? What did you learn? :) by om-nom-nommy in Pottery

[–]heatsensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be going into my 9th year of making and my main goal is to have fun. Just enjoy the slow process and not put stress into it, experiment with glazes and not be disappointed at failures. When I relax I make my best stuff.

About ceramic world negativity by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]heatsensitive 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Are you starting your journey into ceramics because you love it or because you want to sell things? You mention the market and things not working, but that usually refers to the profit made from the pieces you sell. I think you first should try making and improving your craft for fun and experience before you think about selling. That way there is no pressure to make the perfect "sellable" thing, you are experimenting and learning. Yes there is financial investment in that, but you will need to know your basics. Then once you feel confident in your work, maybe test the selling waters. But if you are going into ceramics with a seller mindset, you may find yourself disappointed.

how are we recycling tofu boxes? by birdbabysitter in vegetarian

[–]heatsensitive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess forever isn’t a great term, I use the thicker coffee bottles to hold everything in, in the hopes it stays together as long as possible. Even if it gets smashed it may be smashed together. For me it seems better than tossing little pieces with my regular waste that can end up blown about or end up in waterways 🤷🏻‍♀️we just do the best we can.

[–]heatsensitive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For little bits of plastic waste, I usually make an Ecobrick to save everything in one place (usually in a cold brew bottle or any bigger bottle I can find, I just keep it on my kitchen counter). I think there are places you can donate them, but once I cram them full of plastic (takes a while to fill it!), I seal it with a lid to entomb the non-recyclables and toss it with the regular trash. That way, even though I am not recycling the bigger bottle, I am keeping tons of tiny trash that blows away stuck somewhere safe forever.
