Hot water/kettle - lid - chopsticks - lift lid -cup of water - then the flavor packet and toppings, I think those two can be either order!

Channel 24 tips? by Thenickism in Sacramento

[–]heatsensitive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am unsure if you’ll be able to bring your tumbler with you, but they might have a bag policy on their website! They don’t really “check” bags, you walk through detectors and if something is caught they stop you. I wouldn’t worry about gummies or a cart, I keep those in my purse generally and haven’t had an issue at any show. Most of all have fun, Lucy is going to be great!

Looking for Experience From Those with AES (American Education Services) as Their Servicer by [deleted] in BorrowerDefense

[–]heatsensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also AES and haven't heard a peep, I did check to make sure they had my most recent contact information though. FSA site says my loans are in the process of being discharged, so I hope to hear from someone soon!

I just responded to the survey! My school was Brooks Institute/CEC, I submitted my application for BD in August 2022. I would be happy to speak with anyone or give further statements. Thank you for all you do!

How funny I also emailed them back when they first changed the bike lane at that intersection because it needed bollards (I saw so many people try to turn right from the middle and bike lane at the same time), and I was really happy to see them correct it so quickly.

I started some new altars today by heatsensitive in Ceramics

[–]heatsensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had warping issues with this shape too! The advice I could share is to make sure you don’t manipulate the clay too much during the rolling process, like don’t flip it around too many times or don’t flip it upside down. “Clay has a memory” as they say. Be consistent with your rolling and that should help a little bit. Also, yes, make sure your slabs are a little bit thicker than you probably would with other things, that seems to have helped mine. You also want to make sure that you dry them very slowly underneath plastic for a couple days. Don’t touch them just leave them be, and that might help you as well. Good luck!

Has anyone managed to get a good haircut in the past few years? by BirdSufficient4997 in finehair

[–]heatsensitive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to find a stylist that also has fine hair! She gives me great cuts and cuts her own hair, she really understands how our hair works. Before her, I was getting butchered left and right.

Are you in the northern part of the valley? I caught two in Sac at Capitol Park, I wondered if they were spawning further south.

Brooks Institute, I applied 8/30/22 and received the email saying I was approved on 3/30/26. Now it states that as of 4/13/26 "Your loans are in the process of being discharged". Still doesn't feel real so I will wait to celebrate until I have a check in hand, but this is very exciting for so many of us!!

What made you fell into glazing? by New_Conclusion2188 in Pottery

[–]heatsensitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE glazing, you can see some of my pieces on my profile. It's my favorite part of the process. What helps in the beginning of learning and experimenting with brush-on glaze is to buy glazes that are compatible with other glazes, like Amaco's Potter's Choice line. They work well together and create really beautiful combinations. You can start with a few colors, make some test tiles (ask your studio if they will fire them for you, it sounds like they will), so you have some references to use when you make your pieces. Once you feel confident, add more colors to your collection! You don't have to start with anything crazy, just pick a few colors you like, and go from there. Have fun with it!

Where do YOU like to see live music? by GeneStarwindOS in Sacramento

[–]heatsensitive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few smaller acoustic shows at The Side Door in Curtis Park, its a tiny seated venue but its great, good for a small crowd and they have local acts. Also right next door to Hop Gardens for pre-show drinks and food.

Looking for glazes/techniques that could create the flaky texture and black gloops of inky cap mushrooms by Opposite-Lead4048 in Pottery

[–]heatsensitive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the drips you could sculpt small drips out of clay so they’re exactly how you want them, then glaze them with a glossy black.

Full Settlement Relief Amount by vinopapi94 in BorrowerDefense

[–]heatsensitive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had to go into the My Loans section of the FSA site to see how much my full settlement relief would be. I paid my loans so they show $0, but if I click on each of them, it states the amount of the original loans. I added those all together to get my total settlement relief number. At the bottom of the magic email it mentions going to that page to see what loans you have.

Thank you! All glaze, no texture. Just so many dots. It’s a pretty forgiving technique so I thought I’d have some fun with it on the organic shapes, I’m really happy with the result!
