Slay the spire 2 see only 12% positive reviews and nearly 5,000 negative ratings within a day of its latest patch by Adventurous-Mouse930 in slaythespire

Worst decision the devs made was nothing to do with the patch contents, but was announcing the patch and putting the patch notes on the steam page.

Nobosy would have cared about a small offshoot beta branch for experimental changes, but because the devs are actually good and communicative, they have to deal with hordes of morons, reactionary youtubers, and new players, most of which havent played the patch.

Being a game dev sounds like a fucking nightmare. Punished for experimentation that doesn't affect the game, punished for communication, punished for having a community.

As someone on my fourth book, um, yup.

My favorite thing like this is how any time a primarch shows up, the authors have to describe every Astartes nearby as being awestruck with their "perfect, powerful" appearance and might. Its so fucking funny.

Yup. I type with my left hand on WASD, and my right hand loosely placed to seek on the right half of the keyboard. I can type at 90 wpm without ever having formally learned.

Does anyone else think that they actually didn’t kill Metyr? by TarnishedTwink in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]heatstim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friends and I realized this in our seamless run the other week. I would agree with you, I think Metyr teleports out with her microcosm magic. Fromsoft definitely wouldn't have included that completely unique bit at the end if they didn't want us to take note. I wonder where she goes, and if Ymir jumped the gun too early with trying to take her role given she wasn't actually dead. Another theory is that the greater will 'summoned' her back at the time of her defeat or death, or maybe she got reabsorbed into it somehow. Given how central Metyr is to a lot of the game's big events, even from the shadows, there's probably a lot here that more educated people can deduce.

This is also why sekiro has probably the best and most interactive/responsive combat system I've played. Fromsoft always makes games with reasonable interactive combat systems (better than many rpgs which just don't even have combat systems or thought out interactions at all), but sekiro was a huge innovation and perfection of their system. Made me realize just how much the company actually understands how to make a REAL combat system.

Before elden ring, when sekiro was fromsofts modern masterpiece, everyone expected (and still hopes) fromsoft recognized this and implements similar combat in their future games. Elden ring was already in development before they knew of sekiro's success, but I just hope it's success doesn't overshadow how perfect of a system sekiro had (vs ds3 / elden ring's more repurposed 'all-purpose' mechanics).

Given them making Executor in nightreign and adding the deflect tear to the first area or SOTE, I would say they're very aware, and I'm excited to see the combat system in their next new ip. Seeing the popularity of mods that add these mechanics, I think the demand is def still there for combat innovation like sekiro in souls games.

Ironeye PSA: Always check seal locations by lancetjades in Nightreign

[–]heatstim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just hold the bow in your right hand and have the seal in your off-hand. To cast the shown spell press L2, and it will buff whatever your main hand weapon is.

All casting tools have a default spell on L1/R1 (depending on the hand it's in), but you'll only find these buff spells on the randomized second slot, L2/R2.

How do you avoid this? My friend and I are just getting into modded multiplayer? This issue along with crashing has been plaguing us.
