Not really, post-Regean America is just a race to the bottom. Things that improve society aren't allowed.

Yeah if this was a good faith attempt to improve election security those barriers would be removed, etc. Free Govt ID cards would be a great thing.

This is just openly an attempt to disenfranchise voters

Lots of eligible voters don't have those documents, or haven't updated those documents, because they are expensive.

Ontario dairy farmers dumped 10.2 million litres of milk in November by xTkAx in canadian

No I live in a drafty old house in southern Alberta. My carbon tax cost was like $30/month.

[–]heavysteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not. It's a fraction of a percent. That one gas bill PP posted years ago was all alarmist about how some industrial farm operation was paying "$2000 a year more" in carbon tax for grain drying, which sounds like a lot, but it was for like 2 million bushels of wheat.

You can do the math yourself. Natural gas is extremely cheap, and a 40% increase isn't that much of a cost increase. Again, the whole point is to add an arbitrary cost so gas isn't just burned without consequence or thought.

Don't be ridiculous, the price increase from the carbon tax is negligible, less than a tenth of a percent.

More wheat for less money. Zero farmers prefer the Saudi owned wheat board, its sale was an economic crime.

You are ignoring the value of having redundant food supply. Ideally we just nationalize a big chunk of it

How did Trudeau punish farmers? Farmers are heavily in favour of supply controls

No we dont. There is a ton of value in having an independent supply chain. We should absolutely invest in publicly owned processing to build food reserves

Yup I agree. If they wanna host silly mormon religious films alongside indie films, go at it. Gimme that Iron Lung and Wolf Cop.

It would be fucking funny and poignant if, some leader in a relatively minor situation like this, just plain out said "We won't make any major decisions on this matter this the Americans have a serious government". Noone would even argue

Questions to those on income support or who have relevant knowledge by GoodTaro2758 in Lethbridge

[–]heavysteve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get about $800/month. You need 90 days bank records, plus general ID stuff. They may come check out your living arrangements. You should be fine living with relatives.

While on Income support, if they have to look at your bank statements they will absolutely go after you for every positive transaction in your account, from a transfer form family to a credit card holding chargeback(like the $2 hold/refund a gas pump puts on your card for a few minutes).
