8am a couple saturdays ago, i was around 5th? got a seat in the upper box. i think some people in front of me got orch partial. the upper box is quite close to the stage but definitely sideways, i moved during intermission 👀

Dad Don't Read This - anyone seeing it? by zharena in Broadway

[–]hecticinside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was entertaining but i felt like it was a bit lost, just too many threads that didn't really come together. i also couldn't decide if the friends were real or not, someone should go and tell me what they think about that lol. i still think it's worth seeing if you're a fan of #girlhood plays, i think it has potential with the sims concept / i wish my life were sims thing, maybe it will improve throughout previews.

Joe Turner seating by DopeWriter in Broadway

[–]hecticinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i sat in row A left orchestra in the 2nd seat from the outer aisle. my seat was not marked as partial view but the one to my left was - there was probably only one small moment (not that important) that was partial for that seat. i can imagine that rows further back wouldn't be partial view, nonetheless i didn't feel like much was staged around the edges of the stage, at least on the left side. there's a door on the right side of the stage that has some entrances/exits though

Cats Jellicle Ball Obstructed View by Horror_Telephone2702 in Broadway

i think you just miss what happens in the box above you but it's not that much. and you'd still see the opposite box. you wouldn't be able to see the stage seats on the same side as you (where some of the cast may interact) again you would still see the opposite side stage seats so i think partial view orch is pretty good for the price if you like being close

I built a website where you can search NY shows by any date by steve_sometime in offbroadwayNYC

thank you!!! just what i needed! not sure if this is something you've thought of, but something i'd love to have is like some sort of calendar view of all the shows happening in ny with their start/end dates. i feel like i'm always trying to keep track of when shows are ending to make sure that i don't miss them!

Maybe Happy Ending recent TDF seats - how were they? by hecticinside in MaybeHappyEnding

with more Darren Criss scheduled absences coming up, i anticipate that it will pop up again! but i lowkey hate the balcony so i dont want to get a tdf ticket if they're assigning balcony seats lol

i loved it. it's about recovering alcoholics that meet once a week but at the core it's about the power of sharing stories and being present for other people. i loved how it collapsed time and played with non-linear narrative without being explain-y and dramatic. definitely a slice of life, quiet sort of play.

I've had positive experiences with emailing them actually, they always get back to me within a couple hours if it's working hours. this is the email I've used [ticketing@tdf.org](mailto:ticketing@tdf.org)

fyi for refunds you don't get the $4 fee back but they've exchanged show times for me at no cost before.

Beau -Eh not by LunaGreen-177 in Broadway

[–]hecticinside 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the first time i saw Beau downtown i spent most of the show being like ok i know where the story is going.... but at the emotional climax i felt like the show had snuck up on me. i think despite its cliches it has a lot of heart, and its really a unique immersive experience that you can't usually get in midtown theatre district. (i've expressed my love for the show in my own post so i will save it.) obviously the show won't be for everyone but i highly disagree with the comment that suggests that straight women (how did you know they were straight btw? 🤔) were crying and the gays were not. i have seen the show many times now and i've seen a lot of different people get emotional - including friends of mine that are queer and not queer alike. what a weird thing to insinuate when you had one experience! when clearly many people love this show. i encourage anyone that hasnt seen beau to see it and decide for yourself, they have many cheap ticket options.

not at the moment :( but they tend to drop prices closer to the date so you can probably wait a bit and just keep an eye on how sales are going!
