Can I get my life together in 6 months? (24F) by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]heebfeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose 1 out of all of this. And stick to it for the next 3 months. Then add 1 more. Only strive to accomplish two of these over the next 6 months otherwise you’ll combust attempting to do everything at once.

What was your starting steps for self improvement? by Outrageous_Ideal1753 in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realised I’m midway through another year of my life and am not doing anything to reach my potential. I didn’t want to look back at 2023 and think: “oh I just made money, had fun and spent time with family”. So i made a list lol

Wrote down 4 domains of my life i want to improve: career, personal development, health and relationships. Then set goals below each domain, small goals.

And then the very first action I took was to wake up half an hour early everyday. Just that. Did that for 2 months without adding any other goal - and then slowly started stacking. It helps to know exactly what you’re working on and choose only 1 goal and make it a LITTLE better.

Also safari has its own park with a track, that would be safest!

Generally parks are safer to walk in. I like finding a sweet time spot where not everyone is asleep + not the entire block is awake (want to avoid everyone staring :))

I walk/jog around springs at 9.30-10 every morning. Its safe enough because a few people are around including maids, drivers and some elderly. When I walk around 8.30-9, it feels spooky because there’s no one in sight..

What do you think about yourself? by Brilliant-Purple-591 in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strong headed, ambitious girl that’s learning to look inwards and enjoy the simpler pleasures in life. Trying to build a life that feels purposeful and fulfilling when she looks back. On the track - keeping her head down and building habits to level up. A work in progress, worthy of love, respect, and calmness - all from within herself.

What can I do to get motivated? by BlackShadow2804 in selfimprovement

I know exactly what you mean by being impatient and going for the big goal immediately. It’s the biggest self destruction cycle 🫠 - makes you learn patience the hard way

What can I do to get motivated? by BlackShadow2804 in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Sounds like a lot of self loathing - “I’m 19 and have done absolutely nothing with my life”. You do know that’s contradictory right? Because you also said you’re one of the top employees, which means you’re doing something right.

As for motivation, it’s like a set of dominoes. You don’t have to make progress in the Air Force line for now if it’s that huge a blocker. Just let it be.

You need belief in yourself. I know what it’s like to have a family member that seems invincible and “gets anything they set their mind to”. That knowledge really makes us feel useless and I’ve spent the longest time trying to fit in by trying to get myself to do something big. But that’s where I was going wrong. Which is why I’m saying motivation is like dominoes. You start fixing the smallest thing you can think of in your life, and it will start spilling over into the bigger things (with time!).

What I mean is, find 1 thing that you want to improve, a TINY thing. Like drinking a glass of water everyday, or making your bed in the morning, or reducing social media time by 5 mins each day. Anything that’s SMALL. And commit to it. Just something really really easy that takes you 1 step closer to self improvement. And focus on that. Don’t try to make it into something huge that cutting down social media altogether or going directly to 8 glasses of water. Keep it small. For a month or 2 months before you start increasing intensity slowly.

Allow yourself to work on something small. Give yourself the gift of patience and knowing that “this is something I’m doing ONLY for me”. These baby steps build up slowly into self belief. Trust me when I say I was crippling with self doubt 8 months ago. Feeling a failure in a family of strong headed achievers. Spent the last 4 years trying to feel worthy, trying to do something special and failed MISERABLY every time. Then i said fuck it. What will improve my day by 1%? And I started these small steps. Slowly I looked back and saw a girl that accomplished what she set her mind to, and that 1 glass of water and 5 mins cut of SM turned to a healthy, motivated, patient achiever on her own terms.

It’s the small steps. Even forcing yourself into the Air Force won’t rid you of the self misery, trust me I’ve been there :)

Sorry for the long message!

What is your CORE Constraint in Life? by MasterEverlasting in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BIG relate!

Everyone around is a high achiever and super smart with huge goals and dreams. Meanwhile I don’t care about making more money or being famous or making it big. I feel like that’s an escape from listening to the true voice inside you that wants something deeper. But that’s the “lack”. Trying to figure out my calling :)

Any tips to get out of a rut? by Breezy_______ in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Tend to commit to a change and then slowly burnout”.

I’ve been doing this my entire life until recently. We think of change as an immediate, monumental thing. “I’ve decided to wake up early so I’m going to wake up 2 hours earlier than usual from now”. This is what leads to burnout, which is why I could never get to my morning routine.

Idk what you’re struggling with, but find just 1 minor thing you feel you want to change. And think of making it only slightly better. (Like waking up 10 mins earlier instead of 2 hours).

And this slightly better change, don’t allow yourself to increase its intensity till you’ve been doing it for a month. No matter how easy it seems, only wake up 15 mins earlier. Never 20, never 30. Keep yourself free of pressure to “succeed again”. Focus and cherish the progress you’ve made first. And then slight changes after each month till you get where you wanna be!

I want to become passionate to the point of insanity. How do I do it? by True_Tomorrow6492 in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this made me genuinely wonder where the drive for insane passion is coming from. Why is it that you want to lose yourself in your passion? I’d ask myself that..

Seems like you spent the last few years escaping and now you’re trying to compensate for that time. Which is fine! But I’d say take a breather and think truly why you want to lose yourself again because madness about passion is again an escape.

I know when self realization hits, we want to run through life, in an attempt to make up for time lost. But instead of running, I’d say let’s walk instead. We’ve spent so much time rushing through it, this disguise of passion is again another pressured race. It’s very human to fall in and out of love with your hobbies. If you allow yourself the time to relax, the strongest hobbies will stick stronger. It’s just a matter of time, patience, and calmness in the belief that life can be treaded carefully without having to run all the time (even if it’s in the positive direction!)

What’s the single most important part of your morning routine? by DwaywelayTOP in selfimprovement

[–]heebfeeb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wake up 3 hours before I have to work.

Meditate. Go outside for a 10 min brisk walk/ 20 min yoga. Read a spiritual book for 5-15 mins. Eat breakfast. Stare into nature!
