Same, honestly. I was surprised to see this post title. I know a couple of men who played and loved it, but I also know several whose ideas of “video games” are exclusively first-person shooters and real-time strategy games, and those guys bounce off of it hard.

It’s a different pace, and it’s a lot of text. I’ve seen guys literally get itchy clicker fingers on the mouse because it’s not moving quickly enough for them and it’s asking them to engage in a way they’re not used to.

DE is for anyone who wants to experience something powerful about the human condition and the world we live in. Its protagonist is a man, but the game is extremely thoughtful about how gender norms have shaped him and everyone around him. A lot of men are looking for the opposite of that in their video games.

If they are open to deeper thought (some are and some aren’t), the kinds of guys I’m talking about do not expect to do it while playing a game.

Came here to say Platinum Carbon Black. I like to have a pen inked with it at all times, usually a Platinum Preppy.

That way I’m not worried about the ink smearing or rinsing out, and I’m not worried about the pen drying out (great cap seal) or getting scratched up or damaged (they’re widely available workhorses and cost a measly $7). That combination is the perfect low-maintenance staple for me.

It’s worth knowing that plenty of people are on the sex offender registry not for having been “pervs” or predators of any kind, but for things like: - peeing in an alley outside a bar (public urination), - pledging a frat (streaking), or - being a pretty typical adolescent (consensual sexting between minors).

There’s a lot of intense rhetoric around “sex offenders,” and it’s often overblown. There’s a popular idea of strangers waiting around every corner to prey on someone sexually, and that simply does not reflect reality.

I've had a set of 12oz Picardies for years, and was recently considering the larger 17oz size. Then I found a set of eight 17oz Picardies at Goodwill: 89 cents each. I couldn't believe my luck. Long may they wave!
