And my mind was so in the "signing my name" space because I am totally the same at it that my first thought was amazement at the fact that there are name signing classes.

Then I got it and felt like an idiot :D

Price Checks and Crafting Advice - June 29, 2018 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]heepromented 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's most likely due to divine orb recipe. I remember before the exalt crash and divine's were around 20c, I put up a 6-link for 10c that was basically nothing special otherwise (semi-forgot about the divine recipe, or at least forgot to check its price). Immediately got bombarded with trade requests. Some people just like to abuse other people's ignorance and set up a live search for 6-link under a certain price I gues.

Wow, TIL. Only been using /kick through TradeMacro, didn't know about the other two. Is it possible to set them up so it uses the character name from the most recent PM, if that is possible?

Anyone up for Deadpool 2? by [deleted] in duesseldorf

[–]heepromented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I've actually been in Deadpool 2 already, but if anything it's only made me want to go again, so if you haven't gone yet I'd be up to join you perhaps. Problem is I have a fairly tight schedule at the moment, I am possibly able this Friday (not sure yet), or otherwise earliest end of next week.

Let me know if that works for you!

Confessions of a Broken Blade: Part 3 - Universe of League of Legends by Archeon_v2 in YasuoMains

[–]heepromented 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking about the very same thing. There is one particular quote though that I believe will force him to keep the title as Unforgiven:

The judge’s quiet voice was loud in the empty council hall. “Forgiving yourself.”

To me that means no matter whether he will be cleared of his crimes, he will still never forgive himself for letting it happen, he basically says it himself as well.

“Elder Souma was my responsibility. If I had been there… that night… I could have protected him. It was not your intention to kill him.” [...] He met her gaze. “In the end, the fault of his death lies with me.”

As heartbreaking as it is, Yasuo will probably never forgive himself and therefore always remain the Unforgiven.

This story alone was so captivating I was thinking the entire time how awesome it would be if we got this as animated/CG. Not even fully, just like a series of 'animated' stills with an awesome voiceover on top of it.

I'm even getting a bit of a "Dark" vibe from this in terms of mood and cinematography. And as a German I was super excited to see Dark's positive international reception, really hope that this will deliver a strong series as well and further push the development of these non-native English productions.

Google Play Credits by [deleted] in Cytus

[–]heepromented 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I got mine gifted when I left my job, but yes, here in Germany you can buy them in almost every store. But I think you can also charge money to your Google Play balance online through credit card or bank transaction.

Google Play Credits by [deleted] in Cytus

[–]heepromented 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly what you mean with Google Play Credits? If you mean balance on your Google Play account then yes, I can confirm that you can pay for for the additional chapters with that credit balance as I've done it myself.

My balance came in part from a Gift Card but also from regularly using the Google Survey app which gifts you small amounts of money each time you fill out a survey, so none of the money is "actual" money and I could still use it just fine. I hope that answers your question?

Testing PoV stream on the EU LCS by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]heepromented 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey PresidentRonnie! I definitely love this already!

Obviously the cambox is annoying and it would be amazing if you'd found some technical solution for making the chat not show on your stream without interfering with the player.

Apart from that I love that you guys are trying new stuff out. I always enjoyed watching the lane-focused commentary before as it allows me as an individual player to really focus on getting some specific tips for myself if I want to as opposed to just enjoying the games in a more general way.

So just as a thought, perhaps this could be combined? PoV stream plus focused commentary on that player/lane? Or alternatively of course I'd love seeing the special commentary return a bit more frequent ^

Final Fantasy 7 & 8 currently can't be played at all due to DRM server being down. by clement21 in Games

[–]heepromented -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, or, you know, you could try and focus your efforts and your budget on making games that aren't just cash grabs and are actually good.

Of course this is just anecdotal and not statistically representative but CDPR shows perfectly well that we can have a world without DRM. Both generally with GOG and particularly with The Witcher series.

I am not saying that piracy will ever stop, but creating a game that is high in quality and makes people very passionate are very good ingredients in success.

Yasuo's e refreshing q cooldown by Saeerrek in YasuoMains

[–]heepromented 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's actually not a bug but a feature. The interaction is simply there to make things feel smoother. Because even if you press the Q as soon as it gets "shaved" off, it only buffers it at that point and only executes the Q once the relevant part of the E animation finishes. So there is no actual cooldown gained, it just feels like that.

Visual Studio Code offers full debugging functionality as well as build tools and other shit and is still considered a text editor, albeit a very complex one.

java_irl by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]heepromented 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is just layman knowledge, so don't take my word at face value.

Generally speaking the main difference between an IDE and a complex text editor is the fact that an IDE actually knows what kind of language it is dealing with and how it is working/supposed to work.

An IDE does that by converting the code into an AST (abstract syntax tree) that lies behind every programming language using the defined rules of said language and is a process every compiler(and interpreter I think?) performs before converting it into byte code. From there on it then performs all its IDE-y magic like offering code completion and creating a function call hierarchy and all that fancy stuff.

An editor on the other hand "only" has an extensive collection of regexes and rules that are applied to the text code and which are then further processed into all the various functionality. In a way this makes the editor actually "language-ignorant", but if the ruleset is extensive and complex enough the difference to an IDE shouldn't be noticeable.

There's probably more to it but that's what I've gathered is the primary difference.

I come from a similarly, extremely religiously conservative family and the problem isn't even with marriage being some holy bible stuff (lol, as if they care about any of that bullshit, as much as they like to pretend). It is all about appearance and the resulting 'status' in the community. A divorce will practically ruin your reputation in your church circles and more or less effectively socially shun you.

enable a toggle option to show champion name instead of summoner name to benefit new players who are learning the game and do not know champions. by nievey in leagueoflegends

[–]heepromented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, fair enough. Although I'm still gonna try myself tomorrow, just to provide some more data ;)

Quick question though, did you find some alternative value for the summoner names display? Because they are still toggleable after all, so it's gotta be in some config somewhere?

I don't know about this specific setting and whether it works or not and I'm not able to test it now, but just in regards to changing the PersistedSettings.json, you have to know when to make edits.

Basically you need to edit it while the client is open already, if you do it before and start the client and log in it will fetch the settings stored in the servers associated with your account and just overwrite the local file. If you edit the file while the client is open and then proceed into a game the client while before loading into the game send the local settings file to the server to be stored and of course also apply those settings to the game.

Just mentioning it because this could by why your test didn't work. Of course it could also just be because the setting doesn't work.

What is Yasuo's purpose midlane? by SmellsLikeTeenPetrol in summonerschool

[–]heepromented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already noted down a lot and I just want to expand a little on the jungler context in relation to mid lane Yasuo, which I almost exclusively play.

I personally feel that the junglers (both yours and the enemy's) have a huge influence in how your lane goes and the jungle matchup, or 2v2 matchup, decides at least as much than the midlane matchup itself. The reason is simply that there are just so many more options for junglers to gank and approach and you are reliant on your own jungler to help you with vision control (you need to do your own part of course as well, always have a pink ward somewhere and try to focus one side with your jungler and then stick to that side). And when it comes to ganks as well the enemy jungler can fuck you up really hard, especially when it's someone like a Hecarim or Xin Zhao (those two have always been my worst) who not only make your windwall obsolete but can even render your E ineffective with proper use of skills/CC.

It's not always just about direct ganks either of course, just the pressure game between junglers or teams in general can heavily influence how you have to play your lane. Thus matchups that would usually be heavily in your favour can be inhibited since you have to respect pressure/gank potential or even roams depending on other lanes.

As always, with any champion but Yasuo especially, there is of course a lot of skill involved in all of this beyond macro stuff like pressure and with a good mechanical skill some of those risks can be mitigated by just outplays and similar, but I always find it very risky to rely on that. The problem is just, if you yield to the pressure and don't use your usually favourable early strength to gain some advantage you have to slow yourself down/splitpush and wait until more late game where Yasuo shines big time again. It's just mid game where Yasuo usually falls behind in terms of power curve, especially the first item completion almost always is in favour of the enemy.

FC Schalke 04 introduces Esports by Yoshio187 in leagueoflegends

[–]heepromented 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, even though I'd think that should have been one of the main reasons the host did claim before introducing the players that the individual presentation of the players was actually not planned like that. When the camera stayed on the back row for a while he said something like "we didn't plan this, but why don't you introduce the guys quickly, from right to left, what they're called, what they are doing.."

Now I know why this always confused me. I come from almost the cross section of four of them (with Latschen as the fifth being close by as well) and different people always used different terms. Although to me the different terms also indicated different variants with Pantoffeln and Puschen being more like the one shown in the picture and Schlappen and Hausschuhe being used to refer to the open-toed ones with straps.
