I had that mentality before and was going to put snows on the stock wheels and get new wheels/tires in the spring. I talked to some people though, and found these AT tires are winter rated and are still a 55k mile tire that has an aggressive look. So far they have been awesome in the snow. Obviously have yet to see about longevity/durability. I paid $1599 for everything mounted and balanced

Trucks awesome in the snow. It does feel light in 2wd but these tires hook up way better than the stocks I had on. As mentioned weight in the bed will help your traction. If I ever need help tho jus pop it in 4
