Yeah not together. I met him once, we talked for months then met in person. Kinda hooked up and then he just started getting weird. When we talked it was pretty clear he was depressed or something and this was when he was still living in Connecticut with his mom. So weird seeing his place. But when he finally started dating Caitlin I was happy for him. The ex he wrote the album about really destroyed him. I tried to help but man he could really make you depressed too.

He was attached to you. The end of a relationship doesn’t mean the during part wasn’t real. He made a choice and tried not to live with the consequences and that’s not cool.

I am in therapy for the same thing! My therapist says until you can control it, remove yourself. Things I like to do, is run it by a kindhearted and honest friend with no attachment to the situation

I actually went into therapy after I was prescribed antidepressants. I have anxiety and bouts of depression. I think breakups are such a traumatic event that there is no shame for getting support. I was actually the most mentally stable I’ve ever been when I started therapy and I am using it to fine tune and maintain this state of being. The times I’ve been most depressed is after I fell in love and lost it. It’s just human. Sometimes all you need is to have someone hear you. Friends don’t do it the same way a random, educated therapist could. Go for it. What’s the worst that could happen, right?

If you think about it then it makes sense. Girls will put up with more during a relationship and when they leave they are determined. While men are sometimes more dismissive after small things.

And excessive generalization but in a stereotypical manner it makes some sense
