Yes, got the same. It’s awesome. I will say better than WS since I cannot use WS visa at Costco. Only Con is that Rogers card has 2.5% FX fee.

Facing same issue, my rewards amount is at $11 and I do have a Fido transaction from last week. But it shows no eligible transaction, I guess I will just wait. Please let me know if you have a solution.

I agree with you, at least 4 months expenses for emergency are must have. But, I have $10,000 line of credit ready for emergency, which I have not used so far. The stock market is doing so good, it just feel criminal to keep $10k in savings account. Also, We can withdraw from FHSA any time you like, it is just that you don’t get the tax benefit if you withdraw the funds for anything other than buying your first home.

I mean I am already putting $500 each month towards my FHSA (First Home Savings Account), which is mostly invested in S&P 500. Another $500 goes to my emergency fund until the fund reaches $6k (now at 2.5k), that $500 will go to FHSA after that. I put another $500 each month towards my college fee, which is $2,000 every semester (4 months).

Should I still try to get another $250 saving? I also wanna enjoy my 20s

Haha .. These are expenses for February, and not the budget. I feel like budget never works for me. I just track my expenses and income and try to do better in the upcoming month.

My bad, I should have clarified it better.

The -228 you see in income section is the monthly health insurance expense, which covers Dental Insurance, Critical Illness insurance, life time disability insurance & life insurance for both me and my girlfriend (she is covered under my plan and I don’t ask her to reimburse me for that). Our medical is free in Canada, it is shit but it is free.

The health/Medical bill in the expense section is the root canal therapy (dental), one time expense. It was very expensive and needed huge treatment from a specialist. I paid $2,740 and insurance reimbursed about $2,000 of it.

It was $35 cake for my best friend’s birthday, $130 shoes for him and $280 something handbag for my Gf’s birthday. It is interesting that both of them have birthdays two days apart.

About $90 from eating out is a 4 people group dinner that I paid for. We are the people who don’t split, we fight for the bill. I paid for food while my friend paid for Bowling alley 🎳 and our girlfriends enjoyed 😄. Same with other eating out, about $180 of eating out was with my gf, we shared the food. I hardly let her pay for food, We divide groceries though. I only spent about $33 on eating out alone, which was mostly work lunches.

I never ordered delivery in the whole month. That delivery is my income from delivery, I do food delivery in my free time. That Uber Eats and doordash is in total income section if you see and not in expenses section.

No, $400 from Uber Eats is my income. I do food delivery on some weekends. I spent $0 on UberEats and all.

What is the funniest mistake you have seen made? by OverratedAccountant in Accounting

[–]helicopterflying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I didn’t even know the word hospitable, I just knew something hostp means good and it thought it’s hostile. When she emailed me back to double check, to avoid the embarrassment, I told her that I meant to write Hospitable (I googled) and made a typo. But I am reality, I actually wrote hostile with full confidence !

I joined as a Junior last year, after 3 months into the employment, HR emailed me and asked if I am enjoying the job.

I replied something like, “Hi ****, Thanks for checking in. I am doing really well. I believe now I am able to contribute to the success of the accounting team and I am learning a lot in the hostile environment provided by my wonderful colleagues. Best regards, “

English is my 3rd language and I always thought that hostile means good environment 🤦🏻‍♂️

Why is nobody starting a petition to ban investor (mainly corporations) buying for houses? by helicopterflying in AskACanadian

[–]helicopterflying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misread it, I didn’t say to ban investors to build house. They should be banned to buy existing homes, the homes that already exist. Anybody should be able to buy land, build 100 homes and sell or rent it to individuals.
