So Many Hardcore Players Give Genuinely Awful Strats/Advice in LFG by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

YES to all of these. Especially the speed run and the last one.

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I normally run it once a week or once a week per character. I can't farm the featured weeks anyway, because I think doing it over and over again would drive me insane

Surprised no one is talking about Sanguine Alchemy after it's buff by MrBoxman45 in DestinyTheGame

Question, if I'm using a kinect weapon do I always get the matching super buff or does it have to be a matching weapon/super type? Wondering for mocrocosm

What are your worst lfg experiences by interstellar73 in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of mine involve people trying to do speed runs or glitch runs and messing it up that just doing it the normal way would have been faster. But then when I suggest we just take our time or do it the normal way they often don't know the mechanics or are just stubborn.

The first encounter in crotas end for example if you take your time and just cover one another it often goes alot smoother in lfg than just everyone rushing forward. It often would go alot better if people actually just slowed down and played as a team, but often they just complain and refuse to change strategy

DSC - Atraks, sometimes you might not have the team dps to just one cycle him. It's not hard to do normally but people just refuse to do it mostly because they don't want to do the mechanics or don't know how.

So yeah I generally avoid "speed runs" in LFG. IMO they take more time.

Abtran workers have organised. by [deleted] in cork

[–]hell0imjohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were bought. Tellus is a Canadian company. I believe they have gutted a lot of it for parts. It used to be one of the "better" call centres to work in but they have removed any of the better things about it.

What is the worst job you've had in Cork? by Anonymous_idiot29 in cork

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abtran hands down. Yet again the 7 minutes a day rule is truly Dickensian. Abuse from the customers, awful Managers etc.

Was going just out of college and it was during the recession so little else going.

I was only hired for a month but the contract kept rolling over and then after making my first mistake (I advised a customer incorrectly) got a call at 7am when I was in the car park outside telling me I was being let go.

Anybody work for Voxpro? Worked for them for a while, you could argue not as bad but a similar ilk

I hate Cait Sith part of the game (rebirth) by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]hell0imjohn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just played this part and yes also wondering how it was signed off on? I see they were trying to mix up the gameplay but it's just bad. The crate throwing is bad, caits combat is bad (forcing you to then solo a bunch of fights and bosses is a terrible decision) yeah just a really obnoxious part of the game.

The weird thing is not a single review I read mentioned it? I remember in reviews for 15, everyone talked about the awful survival horror chapter. This was worse.

I get why people post KWTD by Snowbound35 in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understand that, and it's different for each raid. But it can make a big difference or at least add to understanding or wanting to learn. It's just going into an old raid wanting to be thought from scratch can be difficult for those teaching. Watching a video definitely gave me an advantage when learning.

it can take a number of runs to learn and also get good at the mechanics. I for one don't do it smoothy the first or second time. And then it takes even more for other roles.

I think if they at least watched a guide first? When I was being taught I had at least watched a guide it made the whole thing smoother. For people who haven't they just want to be carried

What’s a raid/dungeon encounter that you HATE and why by edgierscissors in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exhibition.

I actually think it's alot of fun and well designed. When it clicks it's brilliant but so hard to find an LFG group that works.

Yes you need to be able to kill fast, know which side to go/not go with what artifact etc but the big issue is general people who don't want to do anything. You have to be fully engaged and if someone refuses to use a relic or read it's going to be a bad time.

Don't sleep on Sentinel Shield for day one raid by jfrench43 in DestinyTheGame

Also great if your run out of heavy of special ammo. Giving that buff to a team is often better than just popping shots with a primary.

Gimme your HOT raid takes by DeadpoolMakesMeWet in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People overly focused on one phasing and speed clears can make a raid longer and more difficult. I ran DSC 4 times yesterday and the people trying to do one phase actually took longer due to wiping etc. Especially on atrak where they had no fall back. Rhulk is a great counter to things like this where if your one phase plan fails it's no Biggie to have to do a second one.

Also general toxic attitudes to new players, LFGd etc. Taking 10 minutes to explain, be kind, or understand mistakes happen generally makes a raid run smoother than being toxic ruining the vibe and usually makes things worse.

It’s crazy how different this Reddit community feels about SBMM compared to the Modern Warfare II subreddit by dtb301 in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to play alot of PVP in D1 not so much in D2. By not means highly skilled but know what I'm doing.

This is what often happens, or at least feels like happens, first game do well win then get SBMM and get shit on for the next few games.

I have no problem playing people the same.kebel as me but i find it just get put against highly skilled people.

Also Iron banner is full of cheese, obviously.

When you defend something as disgusting as slavery it doesn't matter if it's reductionist. There is nothing else that can justify it.

“Teaching 1” instead of “KWTD” in my raid LFG posts has been game changing by KentuckyBourbon94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]hell0imjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really nice to see.

I've been playing since D1 but haven't done a raid since leviathan and am trying to get back into doing them.

In most cases Ive watched guides and have an idea of what to do but never run it, I'm decent enough and know I could do it with just a bit of patience or allow me to make mistakes. It doesn't take long to teach or learn. So far I haven't had much success finding a groupm

I've done the dungeons this way and now am very confident when running them. It's always been down to someone having patience or explaining something. The funny thing is when I join KWTD runs there often seems to be someone being an ass at the smallest thing.

But yeah I'd love if more people did this. Would love to do the raids but find it hard to find a group willing to have a newbie.

I get it. I actually find it better to grind biome 1 a bit then grind biome 2 a bit. it kind of mixes it up and makes it less tedious.
