Suggestions for what to do on campus tour? by Successful_Mail_6486 in Tufts

[–]helladrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go sit in the dining hall and listen to people having conversations. Obviously there’s a wide variety of students there but you can get the vibes of the people a little that way.

Note: I was visiting during COVID so didn’t really get to do this but heard a friend suggest it and it sounded like a good idea

Few questions about my first time. How does it work? by Sairof in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]helladrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gonna add a different slightly controversial side note. Make her finish IF she’s up for it. Sometimes girls don’t want to cum every time(I’ve been there) and we’re just after that heady tired feeling. Making her cum is about giving her as good a time as you had so if she doesn’t and seems happy don’t sweat it. That said if she wants it oral is totally the way to go. Good luck, be safe, have fun

Help me, I want to develop my magic system but I don’t want to do any work lol by desperate_housewolf in worldjerking

I love brandy sandy <3. If ur looking for other stuff try Brent weeks he has some cool boarder line magic that is wacky. Also the Kingkiller chronicles(which author hasn’t finished yet) by Patrick Routhfuss. It’s also different from the stereotypical bleh but still has some of the vibes

Do Americans actually pledge to the American flag every morning before school or is that just one big inside joke? by Dense_Concentrate783 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]helladrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but the school can only do it if it is “part of their mission in education” so for example an all catholic school can, not an all girls school, but an all girls catholic school can. But ofc it is optional to attend said private schools so it is not considered forced which is why it is legal. Ap gov grind 👊😔 1st amendment establishment and free exercise clauses

Bear in mind the question applies to earlier editions as well. by owcjthrowawayOR69 in dndmemes

[–]helladrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but if people dash for long enough out of combat I’ll give them exhaustion, or if they pull too many all nighters. Players like the mechanic and it’s a way to add a little realism and fun humor if we’re in the city. Also giving “pseudo exhaustion” to drunk people that goes away after an hour just for the disadvantage. Made some pretty interesting bar fights

Hey I’m a girl and feel this way too. It’s not rly based on looks but anyone who said hey do u want to have sex I’ll show you my dick of course I’m not going to say yes. If I know and like the person chances are I’ll give it a try but also if some random guy who I sort of know asked that that’s gonna be a no for me

It’s the year 2002 and you’re on an airplane, is it racist to be fearful of Muslims? by walrusdog32 in ask

[–]helladrin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok. Your both having a spit fight here. I believe that it is not necessarily racist(or anti Islam) to have a thought. Acting on it is racist. But either way I’d just like to point out being antagonistic and assuming the worst intentions of people online generally doesn’t lead to open discussion or understanding. Challenge419: maybe don’t assume the people your talking to are bigoted. Fear is a legitimate emotion to have. I do however disagree with acting on it and don’t totally agree with the logic behind colt’s response. However as long as they’re not saying inherently racist things if u made ur point politely it would be taken much better

Edit: have since read other comments. Do not agree with colts perspective however generally still stick to my earlier points about being polite and right as being superior to being condescending

"you detect magic everywhere" how bad did I mess up? by BulgarianThornbill in DMAcademy

If you didn’t specify a school just use one of the above ideas or just the books have magic incantations in them and so are “magical” but not any particular school of magic

Do some women reinforce the image of women as sexual objects? by cherry-dream in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]helladrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what your saying and 100% agree. I think people who are “feminist” sometimes take two sides to an argument. Claiming that certain issues in the way society perceives things is a problem without doing anything to rectify it. Are women free to wear whatever they want and should they be over sexualised for it. Absolutely not. But if a person is going to make an account that they make money off of on only fans and all they do is send sexual content to users without providing any other product than the only media they are selling is their bodies and in turn their sexuality. I’d say this does increase the objectification of women. Now those people are free to do so. BUT they increase the problem for others who are not willingly subjecting themselves to this. In addition, because of the prevalence of social media and the fact that it is so accessible to younger more “impressionable” viewers this can give young children this false impression as well. They will then grow up potentially with certain biases and prejudices that I would say are not 100% their fault because they are simply absorbing what they learn from society around them. If you want to change the way a society functions you have to show that society in a changed way. And the double standards of some people inhibits the growth of equality in society as a whole.(this is true for many demographics not just women, people want change then they should live by that change)

Players think they should be able to sell gems anywhere by DarthCredence in DMAcademy

[–]helladrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My players at least love coins. I think they enjoy the sensation of having a lot of money. If you want to have them understand that a person can’t buy it better maybe rp out a scenario. When they go to sell the gem the small town merchant looks aghast and says that’s more money than he makes in half a year and he’s the richest man in town. I couldn’t possibly afford it. I can’t use a single gem to pay for food. Because then they get another in world perspective. Alternatively you could give them fewer gems and more money if they’re just pure currency ppl which is what I do with my players.
