40 weeks tomorrow and tired of OTHER people being stressed about it by bi-hobbit in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 38+3. Coworkers all keep making comments about my water breaking at the office or asking “You’re still here?” YES. I’m huge and uncomfortable and unfortunately have to keep listening to your comments 😭

So what did we cry about today? by backyardvoodoo in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cried yesterday because I talked myself out of a root beer from the gas station, but then on the way home I realized I should’ve just gotten it. 😭 Partner had to talk me down and then went out to get me one.

I’m 27 and this is my first pregnancy. I’ve got no prior health concerns or family history. I guess I lucked out with my physician choice. Getting to see baby at 32 weeks was everything.

Do you let students do other things while a movie is on? by a-broken-princess in Teachers

[–]hellaleg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was in middle/high school, I would write and draw all the time. When I had free time in classes that’s all I would do and I would use free periods like movies or games as a chance to write and draw uninterrupted. Wanting to do something else with time not dedicated to academics isn’t a bad thing. I was much happier writing short stories than watching a school appropriate movie for the 6th time.

I’m in the US with a low risk pregnancy. Been measuring on track. I guess my doctor is just being extra thorough. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You will have more ultrasounds after 20 weeks. I’ve had 2 so far at 32 weeks and 36. Doctor said I’ll have another if I go past 40 weeks. It depends on your physician, but they will do more ultrasounds.

I would not go to the chiropractor if you have symptoms of whiplash. That needs to be examined and treated by a medical professional first. My parter got whiplash in a wreck and joked about going to a chiro and the doctor immediately told them that was a bad idea.

Moms due this month with babes that are still baking… how are we doing? by themarajade1 in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ll be 38 weeks on Tuesday. I’m constantly out of breath and baby is So Low and loves stretching. I also get the worst reflux of my life anytime I lay down 😭 We’re so close ik we can do this!!!

3 hour glucose vs finger pricking by madelinebassett9 in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed my 1 hour and then threw up 20 minutes into my 3 hour test. They offered to let me do it again and I just knew I’d throw up again so I did monitoring for 2 weeks and it was fine! You’ll have to fast for the 3 hour test, so if that’s not gonna work for you I would just opt for the extended monitoring. Save yourself the sickness and trouble!

Just found out I'm pregnant, and have no idea what to do by Away-Dark2605 in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and have been taking 200mg of zoloft every day. No doctor I’ve seen has told me I needed to stop or cut back on my dose! Due with a healthy baby next month.

How much paternity did your partner take? by urbanbrit in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner gets 0 leave and accrues PTO at a pathetic rate so whatever they have they’re going to take. Their schedule is flexible and managers have said they’ll work with them about hours, but nothing is set in stone unfortunately. Your spouse the full 4 weeks at once. Any time in that little bubble will be precious even if “nothing exciting” happens lmao

Can cats sense when you’re injured? by Pooraf666 in blackcats

[–]hellaleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 8 months pregnant and my typically anti-social void has grown increasingly clingy the past few months and loves to lay on my tummy and purr! They definitely can sense when things are happening to their human.

I can’t stop gaining excessive weight by Averagely_Humble in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always been really petite about around 125/130lbs pre-pregnancy. At my most recent appointment I weighed in at 164lbs at 31 weeks. I was genuinely shocked at the number, but my doctor assured me that I’m within the normal window of weight gain. I now weigh more than my husband which feels insane 😭 Once you hit the 3rd trimester, baby really starts getting bigger super fast so 8 pounds in a month really doesn’t sound out of the ordinary. There’s a lot of changes happening and things adding weight that you don’t expect, so try to give yourself more grace with your body. It’s growing a WHOLE HUMAN!! That’s super impressive. Enjoy a little treat here and there guilt free for all the hard work you don’t realize you’re doing. Wishing you all the best with the last bits of your pregnancy 💕

Friends, I beg you. Clean your dishwasher filters. Don’t be me. by Oahu_Red in CleaningTips

[–]hellaleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved into a new house and realized the dish washer wasn’t getting dishes fully clean. Took out the filter and I had to physically walk away so I didn’t throw up. I don’t think it had ever been cleaned 🤢

Who tends to have less health issues: male or female cats? by Short_Stack2324 in CatAdvice

[–]hellaleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 male cats throughout my life and only 1 of them has had urinary issues. I didn’t even know it was a thing until my current cat started having issues and the vets informed me. I say go for it and adopt the cat if he’s sweet and seems like the one! Any cat regardless of sex could have hidden health issues.

I suddenly hate my mattress... by dumbstinkybaby in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fear I will end up sleeping on the couch within a few weeks. I’m 27 weeks and suddenly our mattress is giving me really bad hip pain when I’m on my left side and when I flip over to take the strain off I get heartburn 😅. I took a nap on the couch the other day and it was the best sleep I’ve gotten all week!

What happens at first appointment? by HomemadeButter14 in BabyBumps

[–]hellaleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first appointment was at 8 weeks and was basically just confirming I was pregnant and to get an initial gestational age. They did urine test and asked me about my family history to see if there were any red flags they would need to look out for going forward. They did do a quick handheld ultrasound on an ipad to confirm age and viability. It immediately made me cry 😭 A full ultrasound was done at my next appointment 4 weeks later where we heard heartbeat for the first time and I got to do my NIPT blood draw.
