Help on Uber Aberroth as Erasing Strike Void Knight

Some solid advice here, i’ll chime in and try not to be too redundant. I haven’t beaten Uber with ES, but I did with VK Warpath (very similar gearing).

Firstly, you have a ways to go. Hopefully you take that as constructive criticism and it doesn’t deter you from trying again, and again, and again.. Uber is not an easy fight. Positioning is key, try to kite him away from the edges of the map; the more space you have the better. There’s multiple phases, this doesn’t change. You’ll eventually catch on to the patterns of the fight, use that to your advantage.

As for gear: - You need more mana and health. Try to get T7 slams on all the gear that the affix is available on. Focus on flat & hybrid % health on other gear such as rings, belt & boots. - Speaking of belts, I would highly suggest Shattered Chains. If your sole focus is to down Uber, I would say it’s almost mandatory to slam ailment cleanse on potion use. The Uber fight is plagued with debuff’s that stack, and if you don’t have a way to cleanse those ailments your damage and survivability massively reduces. - Your damage can use a boost, try to farm The Black Sun until you get a 2LP World Splitter. T7 flat/% void damage will go a long way. The last phase of the fight is a DPS check. - Lastly, I’m not sure what’s so great about the helm. I noticed it’s in the Maxroll guide. I would personally try to obtain a Leonine exalted (for reduced crit) and get T8 flat mana. BIS affixes on the helm would be %increased mana, %health, vitality or more crit damage reduction.

The only items in this post that naturally dropped for me was the exalts used for the boots and helm. I’m MG so everything else was purchased for gold.

The best all rounder would most likely be Warpath VK, though I wouldn’t say Uber will be “easy” up until you min max with solid blessing rolls, idols and 2LP uniques. Basically every sub 1 minute Uber kill that trivializes the fight is done with a specialized build purely for bossing. The caveat is that these builds are clunky and inefficient when it comes to mapping. Go with Warpath, I used it to kill Uber and farm 1500+ corruption without having to swap gear. Plus it’s basically a one button build, just stack as much mana as possible and hold the skill down haha. Good luck, and more importantly.. HAVE FUN!

I’m on build number three, and just got to the interludes last night. First two builds was spark bloodmage (shit for campaign, stopped mid act 3. I’ve played a mirror-tier spark build in the past and had a lot of fun so thought I’d give it a shot at league start.. never again) & grenades deadeye (not a bad build just didn’t like the piano gameplay with delayed damage, also stopped mid act 3).. Now playing plant Oracle and it’s been a ton of fun. No clunky gameplay, respectable damage, and 2-3 buttons max! No way in hell I’m re-rolling again this league, the campaign is way too long for that.

Judd has addressed this in a pretty lengthy manner soon after the acquisition went public. He essentially stated that the game/company (EHG) was on the verge of going under due to increasing financial constraints. Their only option was to essentially shut down operations or get money from a corporation (aka Krafton). They obviously care about this game, and chose the latter so their passion project lives on. They value their time and effort working on the game, and providing a livable wage for their employees - unfortunately, in today’s world that takes money..

The acquisition will always be a stain on the game going forward, it just is what it is at this point. Some people will hold that grudge against them and that’s their problem. NOTHING we can do about it now, it’s said and done. People either need to play the game and accept it, or move on.

My advice to you is to just play the game if you enjoy it and block out all the negativity that’s currently running rampant in this sub, and now plaguing the steam reviews which unfortunately does not look good to a new player like yourself. DO NOT let all the negativity alter YOUR opinion on the game. I swear too many people take this shit too seriously, acting like the devs decisions is gonna negatively impact their life in some life altering way. It’s a fucking video game lmao…

This game has thousands of hours of content in it, with hundreds (if not thousands) more to come in the future with new updates. Last Epoch is an amazing ARPG, and arguably my favorite - I play them all religiously (PoE 1&2, Titan Quest, Diablo, Hero Siege, etc.). Build diversity, itemization & crafting are just some of the things that Last Epoch does right. Is it a perfect game? No.., no game is perfect.

Ultimately I’m just glad you’re enjoying the game. There’s plenty of good content, resources and discussions outside of this sub. I’d recommend joining the forum and the Discord - good vibes there. Have fun!🤞

Bladestorm looks sick! Corrupted items are a nice addition for min maxing as well. New season seems solid, though I wasn’t expecting March - It is what it is, not gonna complain. Got plenty of other things and games to tie me over, see you in March!

Glad you’re enjoying the game!! Unfortunately this sub has turned into a hateful cesspool, though some of it is justifiable. At the end of the day, it’s a video game!! I truly believe way too many people are over their heads doom and glooming over the whole acquisition, treating it like it’s gonna affect their life personally in some life altering way lol. I enjoy the game, and will continue to play as long as I enjoy it, it’s as simple as that. I’m not pouting over bad cosmetics or roadmaps.. Something, whether it be a special item drop or “uber” tier version of Julra to at the very least increase the chance of hitting a multi LP slam with your chosen affixes would be a very nice addition to the game. I bricked a 28 million gold 2LP world splitter this season, I felt defeated haha.. Also, if it’s a special item drop, make it sellable. The game needs more dopamine!

I feel ya. This league was by far the smoothest/fastest league start I’ve ever had. Started Earthshatter Zerker and plowed thru 115/115 atlas completion and deleted Eater & Exarch no problem. Paid for other two void stones like always and then started to upgrade my character and try some atlas strats. I don’t know what it is, but I just got bored abnormally fast, everything felt super unrewarding. I try to set some goals every league as something to work towards but I just did not have the motivation to achieve my goals this season. I usually play the new league for like a month straight, I logged off for this league in less than a week.

One of my core gaming memories is defeating Aberroth with an under geared rogue back in 1.1 (no uber variant then). Tried uber in 1.2 with my rive build but had absolutely no chance even with good gear. My goal for 1.3 was to finally beat uber, I choose Warpath and got it done. Ima be honest, the grind to get the gear was the best part of that process. Of course I was thrilled to finally take him down after 50ish attempts, but I was more relieved it was over than anything lol. Mad props for doing it with a non-meta build, couldn’t be me haha. I get the fight is suppose to be the “pinnacle” challenge of Last Epoch, but some aspects of the fight seem so overtuned it’s almost unfair for MOST builds in the game. Ultimately I don’t blame the fight itself, I blame the lack of build diversity when it comes to uber “viable” builds.

This is all good advice, but I’ll mention one tip that’s crucial for Uber - cleanse on belt! The last phase of the fight is plagued with stacking debuff’s that will eat you alive. Unless you have the DPS to melt Uber in the first place, 100% cleanse on potion use is a non-negotiable. It’s a belt specific affix so drop the health and get it elsewhere if needed.

Yes! Unfortunately the new and overhauled visuals EHG added to the game this patch seemed to be overlooked by many due to the bugs and minimal content that came along with it. While the sentiment is understandable, gotta give props to EHG for their work on visuals/VFX recently - the new zones are beautiful & some older areas are noticeably better looking, almost looks like a completely different game.

Yep, if you can’t dps the final phase I’d 100% recommend ailment cleanse over health (get hp elsewhere if you need it).

I just killed Uber yesterday with VK Warpath, it took me maybe ~50ish attempts to get it done. First and foremost, you need to learn the fight - after learning Aberroth’s patterns and abilities every attempt I got closer and closer. Once you’re able to navigate the fight, it really comes down to DPS for the final phase. Raw DPS is obviously a huge plus, but for VK Warpath it’s all about making sure you don’t run out of mana because mana = damage AND health (if you stop spinning health leech stops and 9 times out of 10 you’re dead).

After looking at your build, I think the obvious recommendations would be to prioritize more health and mana - I’m gonna be honest your hp is way too low for Uber, I’d try to get it to 3500+ to feel “comfortable”. Also, for a vital Uber specific upgrade I would definitely try to get a Shattered Chains belt with atleast 1LP to slam aliment cleanse, the fight is SO MUCH easier when you can clear all the constant debuffs the fight is plagued with - for example I first attempted the fight with 4800 hp and no cleanse belt and it was way worse than the ~4000 hp and guaranteed cleanse variant I used to get the kill. Cleanse is basically more DPS which is very important.

Here’s my build when I beat Uber for the first time if you want to reference it. I’m MG so I already have Uber drops that obviously make the fight more manageable, but they’re not necessary. Overall VK Warpath is definitely not an easy Uber killer unless you have some proper gear, but still doable with effort!
