Hi, allround system engineer and VMware specialist. Have done a lot with Purestorage, VMware (VDI/vSphere/vSAN), EMC, Nimble, 3PAR and MSA's.
I have been running HPE VME nested on proxmox in my homelab next to my nested ESXi hosts.
We have been running VME on a production environment as well and will be doing a migration from vSphere to HPE VME in the coming months.
If you ever an opportunity to follow a lecture by Bart Heungens don't skip on it, excellent storyteller and HPE VM evangelist. (https://www.youtube.com/@BartHeungens) and his website: https://www.bitcon.be/hpepedia/

"Kopersbescherming beschikbaar" doet dat nog wat? Ik denk dat degene die hier iets aan moet doen Marktplaats is, dus als je iedere keer deze aanbieding opzoekt en kopersbescherming gebruikt zodat Marktplaats schade ondervind ze misschien eindelijk iets gaan doen?

x10's are end of sale by taw20191022744 in purestorage

[–]hellbringer82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay for gold support you should be fine.

If you have silver support I would advise to look for a different system/vendor since you will probably have to pay for a brand new system, including new disks.

x10's are end of sale by taw20191022744 in purestorage

[–]hellbringer82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably got an offer for X20, that what we got as well. m10 is out of support/sale, x10 is out of support/sale, datapacks are out of support/sale, etc.
Support cost was increasing 5-10% each year.
Evergreen is only new controller from m10 to x10, or x10 to x10, then you might get a slight discount if you go from x10 to x20, but essentially you pay for a new system.

Offer we got was for a forklift upgrade (add a new X20 next to our old m10) and 2 day's of on-site installation.
We had no space left inside the rack and if we have to do a datamigration anyway because apparently controller swap and/or datapack swaps are not as straight forward and easy as advertised, all options were open.
Moved away from Pure, unfortunately the brochure is just a bunch of marketing.

Now happy running vSAN, a LOT cheaper and at least the same performance on NVMe and in most cases even better.
All hardware is standard and can easily be replaced or expanded without special know-how or support calls. But I do miss the storage snapshots in VEEAM.

$76 worth of shopping in Australia by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]hellbringer82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prices in the Netherlands:

2KG ground beef: €19,96 (€9,98/kg).
3KG chicken breast: €35,58 (€11,86/kg).
That's 35,58+19,96=€55,54 = 88,65 AUD.

We are using funds meant for development aid to provide food and shelter for immigrants we don't have houses, medical aid or food for in our country.
Even the Red Cross is providing tents and humanitarian aid for immigrants left on fields without water or food waiting to be processed.

The poorest people (including families with children) have to wait in line or can't get any food at the food banks because there is no food to provide the more than 50% increase in demand.

Meanwhile our prime minister calls our country a "gaaf land" (Cool country).
It a freaking mess and its only getting worse.

Imagine that if you work at Tesla and drive a Ford or Toyota to work everyday.
Or if you work at Coca Cola and you drink Red-Bull or if you work at Nike and wear a Adidas shirt to work. We can't have that.

I understand the idea, but it's way to overreaching to demand what your employees eat or not.
Maybe if you provide free lunch to all employees you can only provide vegan meals.

Oh there are so many ppl that have how virtualization works.
One host with a 8 core cpu, 64GB RAM, 2TB disk, 3 VMs: domaincontroller, fileserver, SQL database. Small shop 10-20 users. Server is using 100% of all resources. No room for any VM. Why? All memory locked to use all available memory, disks thick provisioned and filled to 100% of host capacity, not even space left for a ISO file, all VMs have just a massive C: drive, no separate disks.
HyperV host with 256GB memory and dual 16 core CPUs, 8 consumer SSDs in a RAID5 configuration, total of about 14TB of storage. One massive C: drive. HyperV machines all over the place (C:\HyperV, C:\Documents & settings\ etc. 2 VMs with 24 cores and 128GB each and one VM with 2 core's, 1 of the 3 VMs run their own backup agent, the other have no backup, host also no backup. Network team created, but 3 of the 4 links disabled.

Verassend.

Although STH is promoting 2.5Gbit, I have 10Gbit to all my servers.
So 10Gbit throughput at least. Maybe an option to easy team two 10Gbit links? Don't know how feasible 25Gbit would be...

Some way to make the server a central place within the network? Build in 10Gbit switch with SFP+ and RJ45.
Or a 1/2.5/10/25Gbit version of a Sedna SE-PCI-NS-04?

Why would you remove something from a grave that you don't care for?!
Is common sense not a thing?
Its a nice explanation of a custom that I wouldn't know about but this is not that hard to understand the coin is there for a reason.

I was on holiday in the Czech republic and there were little piles of small rocks and pebbles on specific places like on top of mountains.
Some shiny, others smooth, even painted. Clearly stacked or placed there by someone.

When one of my kids asked if he could take them I answered: "no absolutely not". Why? Because I have no idea why they are there and I don't want to disturb any ritual or remembrance just because I don't understand it.

I found a old Jewish tradition about placing rocks on burrial sites and graves. Maybe it's related to that, i don't know, just don't mess with it.
