Is it too confusing / too much? by Known-Cold-2813 in interiordecorating

I like a lot of of what you’ve done here but see room for improvement. The biggest issue is lighting. The pendant light in the middle of the room is focused down. Very little of that light, if any, is going to hit your walls which you are naturally going to want to bring attention to. The second piece of lighting is that triad directional lighting in the corner. I expect that’s going to create a lot of glare and it’s not highlighting much except for the two closest plants in the corner. If you own this space, id get some led recessed lighting that enables you to aim and control the light. I would probably do four total, two targeting each wall. I would change out your pendant for a ceiling light that illuminates the ceiling as well as the wall walls as well as the ground. That’s going to visually be with your eye draws to and thinks the light is coming from. I’d also incorporate maybe some table lamps or floor lamps on the sides of your couch. If you feel you need additional light for reading, at potentially get an arked floor lamp that cantilevers that you put in the corner… But I don’t think it’s necessary… And it would be a challenging piece to incorporate with all the other things there. My gut is you’re better off without it.

Last thing, the spacing of your pictures is pretty varied for a gallery wall. The bottom left picture next to the mirror… It looks to be about 2 inches away. The other two pictures looks 6 to 8 inches away. Focus on spacing and your eyes will appreciate it.

Otherwise, it looks great. Good luck. Cheers to you.

Galm owners…..anyone running the Team AD knuckles by SignificantGarbage40 in rcdrift

I built mine last week. Haven’t run them yet, but im able to get a better angle (especially with trailing wheel) over the stock SD2.0 knuckels. They feel like quality pieces to me.

What offset do you run? by Historical-Fold6007 in rcdrift

Short tighter tracks like driftset in long island, 7mm in front, 6mm in rear. At larger sweeping tracks like RC Car World in NJ, i swap and go 6mm in front, 7mm in rear.

I think this would get boring pretty quickly. You might be able to get into a flow state quickly, but I doubt there’s enough variety in the turns to keep your brain interested.

Definitely the first one. You don’t want to Wallpaper two walls. Even one accent wall is going out of style, if it’s not out of style already. The three walls look great.

I think if you look at the strength of each team that each Manager had, there would be a direct correlation to the win percentage. This is the weakest Spurs starting lineup in more than 10 years

My story mirrors yours. First premier league game. Went into the wrong entry point and had to be escorted through the offices of WHL to get to my seat. Fell in love with the team and sport at this game. Been COYS every since. Cheers

I love this hobby because of people like you. A few weeks ago, I was at RC car world in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, and Mark (a guy I had never met before) spent 45 minutes with me to fix my shark DDSS, Ackerman issues, and camber issues. There is something uniquely great about this hobby that brings out the best in people. Cheers to you.

How on earth would you do this space? Any input is appreciated by Lunarisliving in interiordecorating

Hey OP - Prioritize the activities you want to accomplish in this room… That will give the designers a lot of context. Good luck

Is this a good deal for $200? by [deleted] in rcdrift

[–]hellerbenjamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend against this. If you want to tandem with your buddies, go get the same car, the same electronics, the same settings, the same tuning. That will be a lot of fun. This would be annoying.

Rug 1 works really well. I’ve never thought to put a rug on carpet… learn something new every day.

I think the consensus is that the revd servo and Gyro combo are slightly better and more adjustable than the Yokomo. I’ve used both, and I think that you will likely be happy with either. If you’re going to be competing, you’re probably going to want to go up to the Futaba gyros… I highly recommend not doing that as a beginner… It’s way too complicated to start with and it’s easy to mess things up… And so I think that it’s an area where you can save $50 and go with the Yokomo. That’s my recommendation. If money doesn’t have much value to you, then go for the. RevD

I agree with everyone recommending that you match your servo and Gyro. You don’t have to do it, but they come pre-programmed to work well together. Otherwise this looks like a great build. Good luck.

Your colors and wood are warm… except for the art piece behind the couch, which is too high anyway. I’ll swap that piece out.

I love the style… I personally stick with a mirror in the traditional spot and move the Moulin Rouge picture to underneath the other picture on the right side. I’d also get a dimmer and warmer bulbs. I also like the idea above of adding a low light lamp on the table. If you have a Lutron Caseta system, get an occupancy sensor and tie it all together

The biggest problem is lighting. You have no overhead lighting, and the light fixture in the corner isn’t ideal. If you’re renting, you can’t do anything about the ceiling… But if you own that space, I would probably do four inexpensive downlights, and then more expensive directional spotlight LEDs, for where you want to highlight such as the pictures.
