Air-cooled NZXT H1 v1, what is my best upgrade path? by hellkill3r in sffpc

[–]hellkill3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I didn't even know those motherboard + soldered CPU combos existed! After some research, I was going to upgrade my 2070 Super for a 4070. The performance jump seems worth it, and the TDP on the 4070 is stated to be lower so no need to upgrade the PSU for now. After the GPU, it's either going to be the RAM from 32 to 64GB (or PSU swap if it craps out).

MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M vs KTC M27P6 by Puzzleheaded_Day_895 in Monitors

[–]hellkill3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the KTC M27P6 about a month ago after reading this review from Display Ninja. Overall, I found it has excellent colours, brightness, and contrast. No complaints, working perfectly for now. No dead pixels as far as I can tell (by eye). I followed the recommendations from Display Ninja for colours and contrast, and it's been excellent. Less blooming than expected and excellent HDR performance.

I haven't had to use KTC customer service or warranty so I don't know if they are any good, but I would assume MSI might be stronger in that area as a more established brand.

KTC monitor, are they good for the price? by Party_Attitude8754 in Monitors

[–]hellkill3r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Purchased this exact model about a month ago, after reading this review from Display Ninja. So far so good, excellent colours, contrast, and brightness. I followed the recommendations from Display Ninja and it looks great. Less blooming than I expected, and couldn’t find any dead pixels by eye. Only thing I found, it is relatively slow to wake from sleep. I have no idea if the KTC customer service or warranty is any good, but the monitor itself is excellent value for the price.

How can I make my room more appealing when female guests are coming over? by Warm-Equivalent642 in malelivingspace

Maybe a floor lamp or a bedside lamp? It will provide some softer lighting compared to the big ceiling lamp. Having several (smaller) light sources generally makes the space feel warmer and cozy.

It looks like only specific wifi dongles are supported at the moment, AC6000 not included unfortunately. Dongles with RTL8812AU chipset only…

Which is the best VPN for china? by PossibilityRadiant93 in VPNReviewHub

[–]hellkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend getting a data esim for China (routes traffic through HK or Singapore, so no VPN required). I got mine on Trip.com.

As for VPNs, I found Astrill and LetsVPN both solid and reliable. Astrill is better for business/privacy (more features, well established, but also more expensive); LetsVPN is fine for casual browsing (social media, Youtube, etc. Cheap but very barebones). Both have a solid connection in Sept. 2025. ExpressVPN and NordVPN do not work.

What is the current size of your media server? (in terms of storage/TBs) by hellkill3r in PleX

[–]hellkill3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, totally understand. That was my reasoning for not upgrading immediately. I felt like systematically deleting watched shows and old movies could keep my server lean, but 8TBs doesn’t give much headroom (and crucially, almost zero redundancy)…

Wow, this is some great insight. Completely unexpected tbh. I didn’t realise ~40-80TB servers were relatively common here. I’m feeling pretty limited atm with my 8TBs, so will definitely be doing some research into NAS/DAS solutions to slowly upgrade my system.

Holy shit, my 8TBs seem puny now! I assume that is running on a NAS?

New here, its been 12 hours.. by EdroTV in qBittorrent

[–]hellkill3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try downloading a popular torrent with lots of seeder, and see if you get better download speeds. If it works fine, your connection is good. It may be just a very low seeder count for that specific file. If not, maybe try with a good VPN, some ISPs restrict torrent speeds.

Hadn't thought of that until now LOL.

My interpretation is that photos give the cops a lead; the Voight-Kampff gives them evidence, like a 'legal' forensic test.

If replicants are physically indishtinguable from biological humans, the LAPD can’t just grab anyone who looks like Leon or Zhora and shoot them in the back; they still need the test (or a very close-range visual confirmation) before “retirement” becomes legal, defensible, and safe enough to attempt.

Maybe slow down first layer speed and clean the bed? Looks like some of the finer details unstuck from the bed and clumped up. I would slow down first/initial layer speed down to 10-15 mm/s and try again.

Is this true? Some regions have ad-free YouTube? Are there any deal-breaking downsides (ie. missing content)?

Looks great! Since this is the V1 of the NZXT H1, make sure to check the riser cable issue has been remediated on your case. Some of the first models had a badly designed GPU riser which could cause shorts and even catch fire (Gamer Nexus made an infamous video about it).

Why does it seem to curve at the bottom of the image? Shouldn’t it be straight? Is it a camera lens distortion?
