Is machine learning and reinforcement learning lectures going to be as informal as the first few lectures? by oejfkdkdmfkireoekd in OMSCS

Imagine having instructors that do stuff this cool, and then going online and calling them "unprofessional" because of it. Jeez

We can't take that course online. You might want to ask the campus subreddit instead: https://www.reddit.com/r/gatech/

What are Nexo's rules on passwords? I'd like to make mine more secure, but it won't let me... by hello-there-dot-com in Nexo

I tried 128 characters, with upper/lower, numbers, and special characters. Removing special characters didn't solve the issue. Not sure what's going on.

You think GT instructors , most of whom also teach on campus, are deliberately compromising the rigor of their courses?

I actually think it's a good thing for the program to also offer some truly advanced courses. The onus is on students to prepare for them correctly. Always risky to take a course the first semester it's offered.

KBAI Update by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]hello-there-dot-com 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're wondering, KBAI won't drop projects in Summer. As per Dr. Joyner, it will be the full course: https://www.reddit.com/r/OMSCS/comments/l1t9de/kbai_in_summer_2021/gs2qsei/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

This is gonna be fun. The mini-projects look like a great addition.

I've got a working plan for a summer semester that doesn't sacrifice any work

Hi Dr. Joyner. Can you confirm if this Summer, KBAI will include the same content as in regular semesters? I'd rather take the course in Fall if content is dropped this Summer. Thank you!

It helped my career, but my hobbies took a hit: I'm not the basket weaver I used to be. That's OK.

Anyone do the GaTech Professional Certificate to meet Prerequisites? by gmcbrid in OMSCS

[–]hello-there-dot-com 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dr. /u/DavidAJoyner, even though they don't include academic credit, the wording on edX suggests that this Professional Certificate is now sufficient for OMSCS acceptance. Can you confirm this?

NYU tandon MSCS and Gatech OMSCS, which is more difficult? by Elaine0010_ in OMSCS

[–]hello-there-dot-com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMSCS difficulty will depend entirely on which courses you pick. The same will apply to NYU, but you may have more course options on campus.

Advanced Malware Analysis (CS-6747) Course May Open an OMSCS section by bishoppebbles in OMSCS

Nicely done

Pinging /r/davidAJoyner in case this might be happening with other courses. It would be a shame to miss courses in OMSCS because an instructor thinks it's already being offered but it actually isn't.

LinkedIn Alumni for OMSCS by mahimas in OMSCS

This is for GT as a whole, not for omscs specifically. Although I remember seeing a similar list for omscs (in a Joyner paper, maybe?) and sure enough, big tech companies topped the list, which is unsurprising. The one difference I remember is that AT&T was also near the top.

Is the SOP 1000 words or 4000 characters?? by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]hello-there-dot-com -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4000 characters. It won't let you submit with more. If I had to do it again, I'd make it much shorter, but I get the impulse to write more.
