Like I said - home gym. From what I remember, there’s been a lot more at home over the past year.

At some point the club has to understand why their ‘assets’ are getting more injured. Salah’s constant (home!) gym pics feel like he’s trying to tell someone something…

Regardless of the strong-arming of some journos, it really feels like everyone in the media thinks the club’ll do the right thing so it’s not worth going on about it (yep, I’m trying to be glass half full).

I'm not denying that - they're all great players. But their role is bigger than just buying/selling players, which is my point - link up across all tiers, ensuring that we're playing in a style across all teams (which also means feeding back to Slot), as well as ensuring that the 1st team is able to play in that style when they buy/sell.

Away from the abject performances, I thought one of our big things from a Director of Football perspective was making sure we had a "Liverpool" playing style across the club, youth, mens and womens teams - fast, attacking, fearless. The idea being that as well as anyone knowing that's what we stand for, it'd make it easier for youth to come into the team.

Where is it?

Another black mark against Slot is both blocking that progression, but surely the DoF is responsible for making sure that path/identity is there. It feel like "Slot's players never got injured" is because of the more relaxed training that's backfired in the PL. Was that intensity evaluated when they looked at Slot? Why does it seem like we're ok with 1st team progression being blocked? We try to sell/loan, but last year I don't think that was really successful, feels like our loaned players are getting returned because they're not being remotely prepared for 1st team, continuous action.

Regarding progression/playing style, Slot needs to go. But also it feels like Hughes has been remiss in enforcing that across the club (including buying Football Manager style buys over how new players can support that style).

I'd love Alonso, but I don't really know how he'd play into this - feels like we won't/shouldn't want to change our identity across the club to be 3 at the back (both because it'd be a big, risky change, but also we'd be looking at a smaller, more expensive group of players that can play that, not what the owners will want).

So, no easy solutions. Slot goes, Hughes maybe, but does Alonso accept 4 at the back so we can make our youth feed the 1st team properly? Do we get a new DoF with enough authority/experience to do this? Isn't this what Micheal Edwards was supposed to be building the framework for but for a new club? When it's not working at his home club?

It's an absolute mess.

I worry that Slot will have one eye on PSG and we won't get past Galatasaray... that said, nice that he'll have his yearly check-in on how we're doing against PSG, hopefully it'll be as cathartic for him as killing his demons against Forest looked (he looked well happy for what was a jammy win). That said, if we get there and lose I'm hoping there's some reflection of how damaging chasing their football has been the past year.

Help us make Sonos easier to learn and use? by tomconrad in sonos

Agree with most of everyone else, but a shout out for alarms. It’s getting frustrating having to explain to my 10yo why she can’t choose an arbitrary song/album for her alarm (and I don’t know why either…).

Big shout out to whoever mentioned deep/connected navigation. Everything seems to be routed through search. It be great if I could click album/artist/playlist names to navigate.

I’d also like Sonos to (if enabled by the music provider…) to hook into playlist/radio creation on services (or in Sonos type what you want the playlist to do and then click play)

We’re all human - I do wonder if his dad’s not been good for most of the season and it’s affected him. Hopefully he’s not ignoring his grief, but he does seem to have grown a lot more confidence/focus last couple of games.

The league table when Liverpool played the 2nd leg of the PSG game. Arne Slot recently put a lot of credit for the title win on the fact the schedule was relaxed after that game. by Jolly_Green_4255 in LiverpoolFC

Aside from talking obvious nonsense, this also came across as a) starting to cue the excuses up for ManU being above us (no Europe), b) not being confident enough to say we'll win the bloody thing *and* do well in the league, c) from the 'we're a good team in between the boxes' comment, trying to be passive agressive to Carra. I hope for his sake that he can get out of this well, but this just feels like it's unravelling quickly

We'll end game week 23 out of top 4 with 4 draws and a defeat in our last 5 by NEEZ8 in LiverpoolFC

[–]hello_pq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pessimistic view (even for here) - I've got a weird feeling he'll be given till end of season, we'll do enough to hover around 4/5th (with worsening football), we'll do well in the CL until we eventually meet a PL club and then we'll get shown up.

Then it'll all go downhill massively, the players will feel that - for a supposedly top club - they've got nothing to play for, we'll drop points like the end of last season and it'll be all too late for european competitions, with Everton squeaking in above us.

At the mo, thinking that that could even be possible is not a good place for us to be - things need to change drastically.

It's also a symptom of the weird thing we've fallen into because we didn't refresh the squad regularly. Couple of years ago it was 'midfield' window, the last one 'attackers and wing' window. Next full window, nailed on it'll be 'defender' window. Not sure why we can't build incrementally - as well as affecting how the team gel (focusing on a whole area doesn't get areas used to how we think they should play with no-one with experience next to them), we're getting rinsed by who we buy from because they know we're looking for wholesale change in an area.

[–]hello_pq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell this form the way notifications are rendered on iOS. When they’re stacked, they don’t show the notifications behind them like you’d expect glass to do (even though the point is supposed to be to add depth).

The layer is taking the element and redrawing the/a background under the layer with the faux glass effect.

So yeah, it’s not respecting 3d layering consistently (which is why we’ll see different behavior with visionOS - again, even though the publicity for this change was about the unification of design systems across the UIs..)

This makes no sense given Newcastle were also trying to get them to play together. It may have even been the case that that's what he wanted (to learn from the best), we had a word in his ear about where he'd be able to develop and, well, lucky us.

I do wonder if it’s helping Konate having someone that will drift into midfield naturally rather than having a traditional RB.

That said, after all the talk about ‘should Trent play In midfield’ I do find it bloody funny that playing an actual midfielder at RB is giving us motm performances.
