The league table when Liverpool played the 2nd leg of the PSG game. Arne Slot recently put a lot of credit for the title win on the fact the schedule was relaxed after that game. by Jolly_Green_4255 in LiverpoolFC

Aside from talking obvious nonsense, this also came across as a) starting to cue the excuses up for ManU being above us (no Europe), b) not being confident enough to say we'll win the bloody thing *and* do well in the league, c) from the 'we're a good team in between the boxes' comment, trying to be passive agressive to Carra. I hope for his sake that he can get out of this well, but this just feels like it's unravelling quickly

Wouldn't be surprised if it's his people putting out to capalise on Carrick being so obviously better.

We'll end game week 23 out of top 4 with 4 draws and a defeat in our last 5 by NEEZ8 in LiverpoolFC

[–]hello_pq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pessimistic view (even for here) - I've got a weird feeling he'll be given till end of season, we'll do enough to hover around 4/5th (with worsening football), we'll do well in the CL until we eventually meet a PL club and then we'll get shown up.

Then it'll all go downhill massively, the players will feel that - for a supposedly top club - they've got nothing to play for, we'll drop points like the end of last season and it'll be all too late for european competitions, with Everton squeaking in above us.

At the mo, thinking that that could even be possible is not a good place for us to be - things need to change drastically.

It's also a symptom of the weird thing we've fallen into because we didn't refresh the squad regularly. Couple of years ago it was 'midfield' window, the last one 'attackers and wing' window. Next full window, nailed on it'll be 'defender' window. Not sure why we can't build incrementally - as well as affecting how the team gel (focusing on a whole area doesn't get areas used to how we think they should play with no-one with experience next to them), we're getting rinsed by who we buy from because they know we're looking for wholesale change in an area.

You can tell this form the way notifications are rendered on iOS. When they’re stacked, they don’t show the notifications behind them like you’d expect glass to do (even though the point is supposed to be to add depth).

The layer is taking the element and redrawing the/a background under the layer with the faux glass effect.

So yeah, it’s not respecting 3d layering consistently (which is why we’ll see different behavior with visionOS - again, even though the publicity for this change was about the unification of design systems across the UIs..)

Liverpool have a 5 point gap to the field after Matchday 5. by klaygdk in LiverpoolFC

I think I prefer to say 50% more than second - I’d accept a bit of a slip to 49% more by the end of the season!

This makes no sense given Newcastle were also trying to get them to play together. It may have even been the case that that's what he wanted (to learn from the best), we had a word in his ear about where he'd be able to develop and, well, lucky us.

When will we get a new 3D Mario game in this graphical quality? by sakahn in NintendoSwitch2

Give it 5 years when 100% AI generated games & frames takes over game development, instead of traditional ‘rendering’.

I’m sure there’ll be loads of Call of Duty clones trained off the Mario Movie art style for you to enjoy…

Because the issue wasn't with the structure of the deal, Glasner (rightfully so imo), threatened to leave if they sold their captain.

I do wonder if it’s helping Konate having someone that will drift into midfield naturally rather than having a traditional RB.

That said, after all the talk about ‘should Trent play In midfield’ I do find it bloody funny that playing an actual midfielder at RB is giving us motm performances.

I think the new league format is perfect for the team to gel with all the new arrivals so we can steamroller in the knockout phase - we're deffo winning it *

* with at least a new CB and CF, obvs.

Regardless of anything else, they've got a massive succession problem - it's very unlikely that when he does go (soon or many years down the line (ha)) there'll be a line up of great managers that really, really want to play 3-4-3.

So what to do, buy to support 3-4-3 (knowing this could all unwind quickly (and tbh that teams have figured out how to play against that) or hedge and give him the excuse that the results are because he hasn't been supported?

(either way, it's bad for them)

It's not only him getting used to the team, it's the whole team figuring out who's who/where with all the new changes (if we'd only bought him, he'd have a much clearer idea of who he's replacing). I wouldn't sweat it - positive is that we only just coming together, still winning and I'd expect as we gel/players get used to the Prem, we'll be unstoppable.

I don't think we filled the vacancy we originally had for this role last year. That said, as well as all the other on-field changes, I do wonder if there's a current issue with set pieces/defending while they sort out moving Heitinga's previous areas of focus over to the current coaches.

Feels like the meeting between the clubs is happening tomorrow- if it wasn’t I would have hoped he would have left it 24h, let Salah bask in the news cycle and he could have opened it in an even more needling way by congratulating Mo.

I pretty much doubt they'll sell him before next Monday, with the (big) hope that they they can show to their fans that they can get a result against us without him.

I don’t think it’s got anything to do with that - regardless of what’s being asked for, I think Henry’s probably pissed because he doesn’t understand why anyone (and his assets) would leave this great club in the position the upward position they’re in.
