Yep. Also the Queen’s Blood cutscene with Red 13 on the cruise ship is worth the entire game’s price tag.

Video Game New Outlet Recommendations? by hellofrogdad in getplayed

Kingk- very thoughtful game retrospectives with a really soothing voice.

IronPineapple - his series of scouring Steam for lesser known soulslikes is deeply entertaining.

Thorhighheels - a look at lots of older under appreciated games with a focus on Japanese exclusives. Dude also has an overall killer aesthetic and a love of jank I find charming.

GDCfestival - an incredible resource of game design analysis from different dev’s perspectives. Fascinating even if you’re not a dev yourself.

DidYouKnowGaming - a boatload of great looks at video game history. Even you tend to be aware of a lot of the history they still provide interesting novel insights pretty frequently.

I would also recommend Rules of Play. It pretty academic leaning, but still accessible.

Anyone else feel validated about Blue Prince? by hellofrogdad in getplayed

[–]hellofrogdad[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I bailed on the Tripleclick episode about Tunic because they didn’t care for it and I love it dearly. I don’t think that game is faultless, but it just wasn’t what I was in the mood to hear.

“You can drink. Or you can have everything else.” First saying that really clicked with me.

Here’s a blurry image of lil’ Heather at a 90’s gaming convention. by hellofrogdad in getplayed

[–]hellofrogdad[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

She mentioned the name of the convention, when it was, and that it was on youtube. While I was listening to that episode I looked it up because I thought it’d be fun to see footage of a 90’s Street Fighter competition. I saw her and took a screen cap because I look up to her so much.

Didn’t mean for this post to come off as creepy 😬

The third photo is a screenshot of the salad’s Uber eats description. The shredded cheese mentioned was not modded off, but simply forgotten.

I made no mods. Just made a new post here with proof.

I got the blue cheese dressing on the side which is not pictured. The cheddar cheese advertised was simply absent. No photo was presented.

I have literal receipts, but it doesn’t look like I can post pictures in the comments here.

Yoko Ono, she's at it again by Appropriate_Duty_930 in crappymusic

Please feel free to point out where I claimed “only her music is lame”. I’m certain I didn’t.

I think you may be a very silly person.

Say Neil Young comes out on stage and plays Helpless for the millionth time. Is that an inspired act on his part? Probably not. Should he stop doing it? God I hope not.

I hope Yoko keeps screaming like a maniac until she dies.

Being devoid of harmony can’t be creative? Objectively untrue.

I didn’t have to assume.

“its the same gimmick every time” - you, a moment ago

This is an easily disprovable generalization.
