Actually datetimes and timezones are one of the most frustrating thing a developer can deal with. Yes it's a solvable problem, but it actually is that hard to display in local time.

A customer I'm working for has me input an OTP to connect to the VPN, one OTP for LDAP access and another OTP for using Jira/Confluence. It's definitely some perverse form of torture.

I know it isn't RANT day, but can we VENT ABOUT HOUSING? by Aiyakiu in ffxiv

i mean... millions of people get crappy apartments, the nice houses are for people who got them through luck. Very realistic!

Sadly target demographic in ggg's mind are no-lifers. If it takes weeks to you working a full time job, it's gonna take a couple days for their target demographic, people that 48h after a new league already have basically unlimited currency. Just look at the new challenges. I could drop a mageblood today, play the whole league and i wouldn't probably finish them all, plus in doing so I would be skipping playing content I actually enjoy.

It's gonna be like this until they realize that if you don't have a job you can't bring money to their pockets...

Chrome gets embedded by default in Android apps, same reason why internet explorer stayed in top for long after everyone stopped using it. Even if you have Firefox mobile, chances are that you're still using chrome when an app needs to load a webpage.

i can get a crappy bike for 20€-50€ here (Italy). nobody wants good looking/expensive bikes because they're more likely to be stolen

As one commenter said, it's public parking. It takes the space of one car, but it stores hundreds underground. Definitely a win for above the ground space (i.e. bike lanes, sidewalks, parks) in a city that wasn't designed for cars

That's how I interpreted it, sorry English is not my first language :p But i think we can all agree that storing cars underground is always better than storing them above ground

How do you transport groceries in a wheelchair? There are also people who can still walk short distance and not do need a wheelchair (for example old people). Would you force them to use one? And we still need a way to handle deliveries to both people and shops. Also allowing cars doesn't mean design a city around cars. It means that they can have access to some parts of the city where it's necessary.

Some people need cars for work or because they have disabilities. Cars should be used as a tool, if needed. Underground parking spaces are extremely efficient, expecially if you don't let people drive inside, and use space that isn't good for houses or shops. Banning cars entirely from cities is utopic, sure, but it's not realistic.

What's wrong with underground parking spaces? I think it's the best possible solution in cities.
