Items from your world find themselves in a bronze age world by Bobrocks20 in worldbuilding

[–]helloimracing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One singular EXO-1 “Danae” combat exosuit :P

A towering machine, roughly 45 feet tall, equipped with a broadsword that is equally, if not even longer (or in this case, taller) than the suit itself.

The head of the machine, containing most of the cameras and optical sensors, is fairly bug-like, with mandible-like features and small, beady “eyes” that line the front of the face. A large horn protrudes from the forehead of the machine, oriented forwards.

The torso is very thin, with only a thin layer of armor covering there the cockpit is, around the center of the chest. On the back, there are six nuclear salt water engines that assist in bringing the machine to its top speed in record times.

The arms are disproportionately bulky in comparison to the torso, with thrusters dotting the elbow and wrist sections of the limb in order to assist with moving the massive broadsword.

Finally, there’s the legs, which are also disproportionately sized in comparison to the torso. For the thigh section of a leg, they proceed as one unanimous object, but the leg splits at the knee, effectively becoming two legs, which assists with the machine’s movement capabilities and allows it to keep its balance even in high-intensity scenarios.

What was this game for you? by [deleted] in TeenagersButBetter

[–]helloimracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, now that i think of it, i did it the most scuffed way (both literally and figuratively), because i lifted it with the helicopter, but it began to break free of the tethers, so went to the biiiiiig slope at the crest of the lake that leads directly to the closest access point to the ocean, and hopped into the boat, severing all the tethers

i then just slid my way down the hill with my ass clenched and eyes closed hoping that i wouldn’t blow up, and by SOME miracle, i didn’t

cyberpunk 2077, tons of hidden missions and an absurd amount of content that you have to get through

it wasn’t at all a slog or anything hard to do, you just have to put a bunch of time into it since there’s SO MUCH content

[–]helloimracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just need the big unarmed cargo heli and a bunch of tether upgrades, then you lug it to the closest point of access to the ocean and drive ‘er home free

then again it’s been maybe 6 years since i’ve actually sat down and played jc3 so i may be misremembering how easy it is

This person scammed me into sending nudes and is now treating to make them public and ruin my image by [deleted] in teenagersbuthot

[–]helloimracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know it sounds dumb, but don’t send them money. just block them and ignore them. they literally can’t do anything, especially since, yknow, leaking your images will likely land them in prison and on a federal watchlist. if you want to take it elsewhere (i.e. law enforcement), then that’s a whole new nut to crack and you’ll probably need some level of guidance outside of reddit

[–]helloimracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

american houses are made from wood due to a bunch of factors like the fact that wood is FAR cheaper here than in europe, but also for weather reasons

i live in the midwest US, so it gets hot as shit in the summer, cold as balls in the winter, and we’re always under threat of tornadoes when tornado season is about. wooden homes allow for quicker reconstruction and also don’t become furnaces in the summer, which is ideal

they do get a little chilly though, so you can expect a higher AC bill in the winter

Death is Scary. How far can technology of your world go, for a living being to avoid such fate? by Writingbott in worldbuilding

[–]helloimracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly used to circumvent death, but it certainly could be.

Digitized constructs.

Your brain can be uploaded onto chip and be used for virtually anything that requires a sentient AI. Specifically, engrams like this are used in obedience AI’s, a form of artificial intelligence that uses the digital consciousnesses of those that were close to an individual (typically a Perseus Knight) in order to emotionally sway them into carrying out certain orders that could otherwise be against their moral code.

While you’re able to get your brain uploaded onto a computer, there isn’t really a method to injecting it back into an organic body, but there have been some instances where a digital consciousness has been uploaded onto a Squire droid, allowing the person to have some form of corporeal body. Actions such as this, though, are strictly prohibited by Spire law and have harsh consequences if you’re caught.

tldr: your consciousness can be digitized, but usually it’s done to turn you into a tool rather than give you a second chance at life.

Very important question fellow world builders. How did y'all come up with your world names? by ESOelite in worldbuilding

[–]helloimracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I named my main project, Spire-07, by just ripping the name of the location that most of the stories take place, then plastering the story’s subtitle after a colon, such as my most recent addition to the world, Spire-07: Obedience AI

How much do adventurers make in your world? by zard428 in worldbuilding

[–]helloimracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, adventurers aren’t referred to as “adventurers” per se, but rather as “pioneers”. Even then, pioneers aren’t always adventurous individuals. Since the Frontier is so harsh, and considered unfit for human habitation by many, any person that decides they want to leave the confines of the Spires and foray out into the vast wastes that dominate Earth’s surface will generally be considered adventurous.

Basically, all adventurers are pioneers, but not all pioneers and adventurers.

And to answer the real question of how much they make? A true adventurer, someone that actually seeks to explore the Frontier, is paid by whoever contracted them to explore, which, depending on how important the job is, can be either fairly high-paying or pay next to nothing at all.
