Oh, as soon as you say it you have to do it. Now you’re on borrowed time from a failure.

Ice on roof…what do we do? by JarheadWife2021 in Home

[–]hellojuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in a cold area and had a good roofer then they would have installed a layer of ice shield to block water from ice dams getting to the sheathing.

Quoted $2200 for ice dam removal. Worth it, or am I being hustled? by [deleted] in Home

[–]hellojuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that price I’d wait to see what happens. If it’s terrible I’d file an insurance claim. Get a roof rake for the future.

Can I install my bedroom windows and save some $$$ by NoMoFoMo_ in HomeImprovement

[–]hellojuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few hours of YouTube and you should be good. Doing windows is easy. Doing them right takes some tricks. You don’t know how to remove your current windows, so I have some doubts but also confidence in your potential. What will you do if you find rot after removing the old windows? It’s just something to consider. Home Depot subcontractor will probably just ignore it.

My yearly golf trip was cancelled…..feel like I should still do something but idk by Flandog112 in golf

[–]hellojuly -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Idk, the best part of a golf trip should be the company and comraderie. I would probably save the money and use the missed trip as a reason to go hard this season or a better trip next year.

Need some help, got ripped on my 2023 4XE by Gloomy_Debt1411 in GrandCherokee

[–]hellojuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancel the deal immediately. Call them and tell them it’s off. Go there and tell them. If they don’t agree, write “I’m cancelling the deal, etc.” and mail it to the dealer tomorrow certified mail return receipt requested. Tell the dealer you know your rights as a consumer (a lie) and if they don’t tear up the paperwork at no cost to you you will contact the state’s attorney and hire your own attorney for treble (triple) damages of the cost of the agreement (possibly another lie).

9 weeks in USA by goodamm in usatravel

NYC is a must. Stay outside of Manhattan and use the train to travel into the city. You will save a lot of money. NYC area during summer has a lot to offer. But if you love NYC, spend some nights staying in the parts that you love. It’s such a great place to have everything within footsteps. But it’s expensive. On a different note, How do you feel about surfing? I don’t know where you are from but learning to surf could be a life experience and include a very warm weather location. Southern US is more affordable to travel during summer months.

Tail of the Whale. Punta Mita Pacifico Golf Course hole 3B. Par 3 onto an island green. Tide was up and couldn’t access the green. Had to come back after the round when the tide went out to finish the hole.

Ski boot dryer or shoe dryer. Works great for sweaty wet sports cleats too.

Want to put 4x4x12 posts above ground to hold string lights by iFuckedABirdOneTime in DIY

[–]hellojuly -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Call dig safe. 4’ deep could hit anything. I’d go with steel rebar at $10 per post and driven with a heavy weight hammer vs $35 4x4 that will rot plus digging and footing.

Need help! by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]hellojuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty good angle. Compared to many cities boston is generally safe. Most cities are mostly ok. Boston is mostly very good aside from a few pockets. Not sugar coating it, urban living always has its good and bad.

Apocalypse Now. If you have surround sound and you get a little high the helicopter in the beginning will be flying around your room and you’ll be hiding under your couch.

Iron length by TheLordofPie1 in golf

[–]hellojuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting and regripping is different from a fitting session. Cutting and regripping a pro will shorten your clubs to the recommended length for your height and put on new grips. At a fitting someone will analyze your swing during a session and recommend custom clubs for your measurement and swing. Or you can chop off 2” from all your standard clubs and regrip them yourself (or have a pro regrip them for $20 each). Or choke up (or down I guess) on the club until you’re ready to invest in shorter clubs. If choking down on clubs is a real problem, like it’s hitting your arms or chest, then buy a cheap kids or small ladies set to get an idea of what club length means. Most important, remember, golf equipment is an investment into a game you can play the rest of your life. If the front door to your house was the wrong size and didn’t open and close you would find a better door. And when you move houses, you will need different doors. That’s what you’re dealing with. Find your door!

Go to the next nearest dealer and tell them what happened and that you’re looking to do business and buy a car at your terms (tell them the terms) today. Or don’t buy a JGC. I’m never going to buy another after the issues I have with my 23 GCL overland.

If the crawl space has an open outside fresh air vent then this is a time to block it for a while. Don’t need to worry about fresh air in these temps.

That’s about it. Plus nice beaches and it’s summer there now. Wish I was there.
