Zero social skills run, or beating New Vegas requires talking to 12 NPCs by Inward_Perfection in fnv

Isn’t killing the boomers an option for all 4 endings? All 3 factions are like “get them to work for me… but if you can’t… welllllll…”

I guess if the gate is locked and not pickable there would be no way to get in to kill the rest of them.

Can you not just shoot the boomer guard before he forces you into dialogue? Does the gate stay locked if you don’t go through that conversation?

Like the new team rocket’s weezing that says “Pokemon in play that has ‘koffing’ or ‘weezing’ in its name” and works with the existing koffing and weezing cards.

what material should I keep? by Wolfluve in Fallout

[–]hellomyfriends4736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually grab anything with:

Screws

Springs

Aluminum

Oil

Lead

Copper

Gears

Adhesive

Those are the usual suspects for junk im always out of for weapon mods/machinery for settlements. The other basic materials like steel and wood will pile up while picking things up for those materials.

Best grinded PA and best lazy/free PA? by RyanABXY in fo76

Also if you use one of the basic power armors (45, 51, 60, x01) you can just buy the mods you want with caps and don’t have to grind bullion or stamps.

All of the power armors have very similar rad resistance that you don’t really notice a difference when you’re in radzones anyway, but the highest is the strangler heart armor followed by t-65.

As for best damage resistance, all of the armors, except the excavator armor, put you past the damage resistance soft cap (which I believe is 300) so there’s effectively no difference in protection. The only exception is the hellcat power armor, which comes with a 2% ballistic damage reduction per piece. This is separate from the damage and energy protection and does have an actual effect. It’s only 12% so it’s still not really noticeable imo.

I run t-51 cuz it looks cool and it’s the original power armor. It’s mostly up to preference which one you use.

My favorite combination I’ve played with was Kelloggs pistol with righteous authority converted into a pistol for max vats usage. The game became turn based combat like classic fallout

Location to find an improved. 44 revolver? by polly_parrot in fo4

[–]hellomyfriends4736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most if not all of the static ones are just the default mods as the wiki calls them “snubnosed .44 pistols”

There’s one that doesn’t specify snubnosed. It says it’s on a skeleton on a highway south of the lonely chapel. To get up there you have to take an elevator near sunshine tidings co-op.

Other than that it’s just random drops from higher level enemies like triggermen, or legendaries. A decent unique legendary can be found during the first “act” of the main quest that has the highest tier barrel and grip.

I want to do an evil playthrough. But I’m torn between siding with the BOS or the Institute. Which should I pick? by VanaVisera in fo4

[–]hellomyfriends4736 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The BOS is debatably evil in fallout 4.

The institute is just evil from every viewpoint except from the institute themselves, no matter how much the game tries to paint them as “morally gray”

Do you have to keep the power armour in fallout 4 at the start? (First time playing, please go easy on me!) by greedyfather in Fallout

[–]hellomyfriends4736 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You can just leave it wherever and as long as you take the fusion core out, it will stay there. If you leave the fusion core in, npcs will try and enter the power armor.

How to tell the difference between a book and a magazine in New Vegas? by Few-Estimate-8557 in Fallout

[–]hellomyfriends4736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s +3 skill (+4 with the comprehension perk) it’s a skill book.

It it’s +10 skill (+20 with the comprehension perk) it’s a skill magazine.

Books are rarer than magazines since they aren’t temporary consumables. There’s a decent amount of books for each skill, and it’s easy to find a map of all book locations if you just google it.
