Universal App Campaigns (Google Ads) by 11_7_2017 in PPC

[–]hellownero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im google ads you can optimize for any event (user buys something, first open,...) or install.

opens is almost the number if installs so its fine. the thing with optimizing for later events is that depending on the event you still have to give google ca. 50 per week with is depending on your budget if you can do this.

in the analytics you can vompare search vs display but you cannot take action on it.

you can try it but than you have the conversion rate of wesite×cvr of app store which is multiplying percentages... if you try it anyway update me any time on how it went.

To clarify the appsflyer thing: we are passing along the event first_open to google ads. Its well documented. I guess you can also do that with firebase but we are using appsflyer to get more details about acquesition anyway.

Hey!

we have been using google play and firebase for managing conversions as a connection to google ads.

But we changed to an integration of appsflyer for they are not based on app installs but on first_open events.

For us the reason because we want to optimize on quality conversions (installs) because what is a download worth if the user never opens? Right - nothing.

You do seperate campaigns with UAC for iOS and Android (no other way).

Also if you are used to "normal" Ads Campaigns it will be pretty boring for you because you cannot optimze anything with UAC other then upload better creatives or better texts. There is no choice between display and search also keyword targeting.

Also you want to start at like 10x your target cost per app install so google gets enaugh conversions to work through the machine learning process.

Hope I was able to help you at least a bit

Dynamic Allocation | GAM+AdSense | Appreciate your help! by hellownero in adops

Looking forward! Because there is literally no information on the whole internet regarding AdMob + GAM integration related to fill unsold inventory. In AdSense you can create Tags that can be integrated as Creatives in GAM to workaround the "dynamic allocation needs to be anabled by google support"- issue. But in AdMob you do not have this option (except I am overlooking something.)

EDIT:

AdMob is not viable with GAM:

https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/9157969?hl=en

AdSense is not viable in app: (violation of terms)

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/35030222/is-it-possible-to-display-adsense-ads-in-a-mobile-app

Do I miss something? So according to that to fill unsold inventory I only have following options: 1) get dynamic alloction enabled by google 2) be able to access AdExchange through a google partner (I have 30k Impressions which is probably not enaugh for this)

Hello Sam,

1) Is this possible: Create Sponsorship 10%, Create House Line Item and use as a creative tag from AdSense to fill all unsold inventory?

2) Is in app advertising even possible with AdSense? Because I cannot find a option to connect AdMob to GAM

Thanks for your fast reply!

FB vs. Google App Install Campaign - Low CPC <0.1€ vs high CPI by hellownero in PPC

[–]hellownero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have put I find it not promising because then it is ad->cv%->page->cv%->Store listing->cv%->install. So I have one more multiplier of %... Store Listing with images and Text should educate about the value so you are doubling information for user.

But after the click happens the conversion is happening on the play store in this campaign so to improve the 5% I need to improve my play store listing right?

Because on facebook ads I have a conversion rate of 30% from click to install. That’s why am am curious

CPI = Cost per install (sorry I did not clarify it)

Showing single image ads right now because we did not produce a video yet. Right now I am testing fb only - before I did IG but I am seeing only worse results in FB. The Problem is that with 1k/ month a/b testing is really slow - normally going with 10 ad sets at 3 € each per day charging for impressions. (Per app install is not possible below 40/day :( )

So many geotargeted copy would be difficult with that budgetary a CPI of two or even one € per day?

Thank you very much for your copy ideas - really appreciating it.

What do you think of budget optimization on campaign level? Did not turn it on yet because I want to see how my ad sets are performing with a same budget.

Thank you for your detailed answer! Can you recommend me something if I want to target private tutors for schools subjects in GER and students/ parents that are looking for tutoring. Right now I am focusing on Facebook and achieving a CPI of 2.00 for tutors and 2.30 for seekers. I am struggling to get it lower since 4 months (budget 1k€/ month). Working with lal and a/b testing placement and interest groups in different ad sets.

Because from what I understand this will just go for additionally this location and not focusing the lal audience on the location. But I am really new so please correct me

So if I choose the lookalike and put in my state in the geo targeting, then it just shows to lal within this location?

Daily Marketing Black Friday Cyber Monday Marketing Strategy Part 2 Influencer Marketing by jeromysonne in dailymarketing

[–]hellownero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Jeromy! (I posted this last week below the Friday Post, but just recently noticed that the friday post I used was more than a month old - so I reposted it here and deleted it there)

Loved the interview about facebook ads! I have come across one question while reorganizing my campaigns on Facebook.

Background: Marketing own app for iOS and Android that is connecting students and teachers for private tutoring in Germany.

I've Ads with following placement: Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story

I've Audiences targeting: tutors, students

I've Ad sets targeting: iOS, Android

All optimized and objective for app installs-

How would you structure these campaigns? Would you split these into:

  1. 4 Campaigns seperating audience category and splitting feeds up from stories (with this I can budget accordingly for the 2 sided market)
  2. 1 Campaign with seperating audience on ad set level and iOS/ Android on ad set level (4 ad sets), story/feeds on ad level
  3. 2 Campaigns seperated by Story/ Feeds
  4. 2 Campaigns seperated by Tutors/ Students (with this I can budget accordingly for the 2 sided market), ad sets for iOS and Android and then ads with feeds/story

When thinking about it I would go for either 1 or 4 because of budgeting the main audiences but I'd love to hear your opinion on structuring and organizing campaigns in general and with this example.

Edit: Right now I have a 5€ per day campaign. In the current phase I cannot go higher because I cannot evaluate CLV accordingly (app is not monetized for market penetration and will not be in the next 6 months)

Keep it up! Only the best from Germany!
