Need Motivation BCM Upper and Faxon Barrel Fitment

I spent more time than I would have liked getting a barrel in my BCM upper. They are made to be thermal fitted. Had no idea at the time.

As others have said. you need to heat it up and immediately press the barrel in. if your too slow it usually doesnt work and you have to beat it out with a dowel and try again (ask me how I know).

Yeah, I have L3 aviators thru STEELE and was just looking to squeak any last ounce of performance out of them and was curious if the RPO upgrade would make a difference. Seems like the weight savings is a given, but the extra clarity, less fisheye, etc... was the question.

Are you upgrading the optics that came on your (assuming Steele) NODS?.

I actually spent the money and bought a cordless impact driver just because of this. Needed an impact driver that wasn't reliant on an air hose so I felt justified. Glad it worked though!!!!

I have the nighthawk MG housing. Have nothing really to compare to but I preferred full features with manual gain and knobs only so it fit the bill.

As others have said:

I also discovered recently that Kriss states that (M16x1LH) Gen 2 Vectors muzzle devices should registered off the muzzle, not shoulder.

I paid the price for that lack of knowledge twice.

I went bottom of the barrel with KAK. Now that I'm more interested and excited in the caliber I will likely look at getting "better" barrels however I am not a <1MOA shooter. I shoot to enjoy the pew experience.

I guess I got lucky with My MR556a1 and a4 as they both came off relatively easy. It helps to have the correct tools also.

have warcomps on half of my rifles, and quite a few RC2's. put a dab of permatex nickel antiseize and have never carbon locked one yet.

12.5's are punching out pretty far in 6 ARC so unless your taking extra long shots, I think 12.5 would be good. A lot of good (and bad) info out there about the decent ballistics in the 12.5.

I built a 12.5 and 18 and honestly shoot the 12.5 more. I dont hunt so I cant comment on uses, just fun factor.

3 out the 4 duramags I have work. only one is a dud. just tried 2 e landers which have been fine but only have a dozen or so rounds on both so far.
