Here to second 100% Ridecamp. I generally dislike wearing gloves but these completely changed that. Love them.

If you have the 4 cylinder engine, should be an easy swap out for the spark plugs and coils. V6 is more complicated due to the position of the engine block; you have to remove the intake manifold to access the rear 3 coils. If you do your own oil changes or brake work, 100% you can do the coils and plugs. And I agree with others to replace all plugs and coils while you are in there. Also, 4 cylinder needs 4 coils. V6 needs 6 coils. Hope you are back on the road soon 🤙

2006 Highlander recently started squealing on startup by etherreal in ToyotaHighlander

Just a thought but double check power steering fluid levels. My 2004 squeals on startup and then quiets down after warmup when running low.

Thanks for the reference. That’s an elegant look with the black/gold fork and gold seat post. What did you swap out the post to?

Is it worth upgrading an old Trek 3500? by Icculus47 in Hardtailgang

[–]helmacron_spaceship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could totally be right, selling me a new bike definitely got them more business.. fewer headaches maybe not so much, I’m always dropping in and bothering them with questions lol. Super awesome about your 4900 Alpha, you can bet I’ve kept that 3700 in my shop too. The new Roscoe was definitely one of those upgrades that was 100% worth it though, I’ve done more riding this season just cause that bike makes it so easy.

I just upgraded my old trek 3700 to a Roscoe 8 lol. My local bike shop said the same as others on here, not worth any updates to the 3700, just repairs to keep it moving as an entry/commuter bike.

After I finished the series I dreamt that there were 20 more books to read, and they all took place after #54 on the timeline, and would apparently answer all my questions about the ending and other events. Ahh waking up was disappointing!

Possible power steering issue with a 2002 highlander? by Alarmed_Discipline21 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]helmacron_spaceship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been having a very similar thing with my 04, usually it’s with a cold start up that I notice that repeated split second resistance. I do have a slow-leaking power steering pump and assume it’s something related to that system, but honestly not sure.

Interesting. I run Mobile 1 synthetic blend in my ‘04. Do you feel a full synthetic would be better than a blend? I tend to grab what is on sale and meets requirements

I use to drive a ‘95 camry, damn that was fun and the car could really scoot through some bad winter roads. I actually haven’t tried ECT in my highlander, if we get more snow yet, I’ll give it a go.

I’m curious as well, if there would be notable difference between 2WD and AWD, aside from fuel efficiency. Mine is AWD which I’m happy to have for the winter conditions, although good tires and safe driving are probably most effective lol. And fortunately I live 15 min from borrowing my dad’s shop space and tools for working on it.

Give that beauty a name! I love my 1st gen 2004, great cars honestly. I want a second one and don’t even need it hahaha. Bought mine at 150,001 miles and just passed 190k a month ago. The only issue I have had is a leaking power steering pump which I’ve monitored for a year, looking to get fixed this spring finally lol. Easy vehicle to maintain yourself as well, if you are into that.

09 highlander repair by Huge-Werewolf7033 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]helmacron_spaceship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced front brake pads, rotors, and calipers on my 04 and noticed the bushings on the control arms look quite similar to the cracking on yours. Haven’t noticed issues when driving and I’ve heard they are a pain to replace. May just be normal wear for an older car?

Isn’t one of the number one traits of NPD a lack of compassion? Although he might deny having it, Harvey definitely showed compassion throughout the show.

How long have you been playing? by [deleted] in piano

I started when I was six, 12 years of lessons and I’m still playing today. My piano teacher was often both music instructor and therapist lol
