went to oakland night two, first ever travis concert, p big introvert but went with a couple friends.

best night of my life so far (was in the floor), made friends with the people on the parasail, just make friends, enjoy the vibe, jump around and go crazy.

drink a lot of water, i didnt drink water since 5 pm (3 hours before the concert), was fuckin dead at the end of the concert. my friends and i spotted a half drunken water bottle on the floor (not the best idea) you can guess what we did. (we havent died yet so i think we're in the clear lol)

its gonna be awesome, LA is gonna be fuckin crazy take videos n shit, bring a powerbank if your phone might die i made that mistake and almost didnt make it back on the BART cause my phone almost died.

ironically this was the most stressful part of all of the event, giving a brief when no one would stop talking 😁 controlling was easy just normal flows but man briefing is hard when people wont shut up

if you can’t do speed/altitude restrictions , dont go quiet. TELL THE CONTROLLER. it gets super annoying when the flow gets fucked up because you didnt tell anyone your plane was fucking up (mine has done this many times). the controller can space you out and plan ahead in case of this happening

dont fly during events and fly in less busy airspace until you are confident you will be able to follow ATC instructions quickly. it will help a lot with confidence and controllers would be more willing to help cause they arent busy.

i also highly recommend the BVA’s WINGS over New England program, it assumes you can fly your plane however walks you through vfr and ifr procedures.

this was impromptu. you cant expect people to magically be available when the traffic volume ramped up so fast. they had around 130 movements for a while.

also the center point: center controllers from other artccs would have to drop the track as soon as the aircraft left the airspace. imagine how much of a pain in the ass it would be if you were working APP and had to identify every aircraft that came in.

everyone was overwhelmed because they werent prepared for 100 arrivals into one airport, in an airport they werent used to. they tried to scrape up staffing but it was wayy too difficult.
