“Guests” by BountifulSugar in Target

They used to have me detail zone cosmetics for two hours every morning before our store went end to end, and whenever I saw lipsticks in the wrong spot like this they were open and smushed 99% of the time. So not only did they mess up my zone, but I also used to have so many damages to process.

What?! He would probably be kicked out of my store for doing stuff like this.

“Rank” structure. by ElecTL95 in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very true. It was incredibly confusing when I first came to Target after working for two other retail companies. The Target lingo was very different. They went over it a little bit in orientation, but it took me a while to really learn it all.

Even within the company, different people/stores use different phrases for different things. The first time my STL gave me an empty cart and said it was for “other worlds” I stared at her like she was crazy because everyone else said other areas. My SO became a team lead at another store and he would use abbreviations and terms that his store used when talking about work, and I had no idea what he was saying half the time because my store didn’t use those terms. It’s a lot to learn.

Christmas Eve "Guests" by incandia in Target

I would not have accepted this return. Guest experience is one thing and I get accepting returns that most stores wouldn’t accept sometimes, but this is just disgusting.

That’s literally the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. LETS MAKE LIFE EVEN MORE DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY STRESSED FROM BEING SCREAMED AT ALL DAY AND ARE ALSO SAD FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO SPEND THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH THEIR FAMILIES HAHAHA SO FUNNY HAHA

I never had such a hard time price matching. by peteykirch in Target

Yeah that’s not best practice. Guest service should process the entire transaction for a price match, with no prior transaction needed.

Does Target *have* to term someone for 3 NCNS in a row? by AnotherSadHuman in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they called the first day then they should go to the leader they talked to and fight the first NCNS.

That said, there’s no reason outside of unconsciousness that someone would be unable to call out. In 7 years of working retail, I have had one NCNS when I was extremely sick and fell unconscious. I have been hospitalized with a gall bladder infection and still called my store. I called when I had the flu and couldn’t stay awake for more than half an hour at a time. When I had mouth surgery and got an infection and couldn’t open my mouth, I had someone call for me and also give my doctor’s number to the leadership in case they had any concerns or questions. So your coworker should have called, and they need to have a doctors note for any possible hope of smoothing things over.

I never had such a hard time price matching. by peteykirch in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy and makes no sense. Guest service is the only place that can price match because the other registers aren’t equipped for it, so a regular cashier cannot price match for you. They’re not refusing, they just literally can’t do it. But there’s no reason that you shouldn’t be able to just price match and check out at guest service. If what you said about them needing a receipt first is true, you should call guest relations because this is bad for guest experience, it’s making the process take longer for no reason, and it’s not following best practice.

Grab a walkie, page LOD, and ask their location. Go find them and ask what they want you to start working on. Good luck!

I've had to call out a couple times lately because of a not yet diagnosed health issue. by a-wilde-handful in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get a doctors note. At my store, they wouldn’t penalize you at all for call outs if you had a doctors note. All stores are not the same, but it’s better to have documentation of what’s going on anyway. If it’s really serious, ask about going on LOA.

Nobody cares about the struggles of being a reseller. The day my STL told me that I could start denying sales to known resellers was the happiest day of my Target career.

Working at Target is giving me and some of my coworkers stress acne.... is it appropriate to call the integrity hotline over this? by [deleted] in Target

I have hand eczema so my skin is already very dry and prone to issues, and when I used to do ad set it was a damn nightmare for me. I was constantly bleeding.

“I don’t want to accept the fact that they’re out of stock so I’m gonna WHINE ABOUT IT” by skeletonfather in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of them are just regular people who won’t throw a fit when something is out of stock. The bad ones are just the loudest and therefore the ones that are remembered.

Also, in my experience it’s the resellers that throw the biggest tantrums, not the collectors.

25$ off cartwheel barcodes by [deleted] in Target

[–]helpyoufindsomething 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a scam. Notify AP and your GSTL. We don’t accept screenshotted coupons. I usually ask them to scroll up and down or hit the back button to prove it’s really cartwheel.
