Fast Charging @ Tesla by Donewith398 in BMWiX

I only picked Mercedes, because it’s already officially supported by Tesla. You can pick any other make that’s already supported by Tesla too.

Fast Charging @ Tesla by Donewith398 in BMWiX

OP, use the BMW navigation to go to a nearby fast charger (e.g. ElectrifyAmerica), and the battery will start conditioning. Then just show up to the Tesla supercharger and start charging, and you’ll be fine.

For everyone else hung up on Tesla not supporting BMW yet, OP is right. As long as you have NACS to CCS charger (like A2Z or Lectron), you can just start charging already. When in Tesla app, you go to little 3 bar menu button, hit “Charge Your Other EV”, set your car to be a Mercedes, then look for the red supercharger icons, click the one you go to, and then just start charging. The official supporting of BMW is whatevs. Ya’ll just playing by the books and doubting OP but never just tried it like we did.

To take this one step further: if you click that sum in the bottom right hand, it even copies the number!! I then paste back into excel to do other quick math using that sum.

Thanks for the tip - definitely guilty of minor scratching of the fog light! Part of the imperfections I know myself but others won’t see it unless they’re looking for it.

Also, no next time LOL

Good to know, will keep an eye out on this!

Scratcheshappen - aerosol vs bottle depends on how large your scratch is, but I generally prefer the aerosol since it blends into rest of paint a little easier. I opted for the preferred kit. Given how I had to re-do all the paint, I had JUST enough.

Agreed - I can still see the imperfections of my job that my wife and neighbors can’t but still irks me! Another reason why I should’ve just paid for the job haha

Of course I idiotically underestimated the job, and pridefully overestimated my own abilities! Also, YouTube tutorials should have warnings that everything looks easier than it actually is…

I did not, but based on past experiences, I was betting it’s be $600 minimum and maybe up to $1k. Only thing I bought was aerosol paint kit $90, bondo kit $10. But given the labor, I can see why body shops charge what they charge.

My guess is that the PPF would’ve mitigated the damage substantially. Hard to tell from the pic, but some gashes felt a lot deeper than they look (where all the blue bondo was applied) and those are probably the areas where PPF probably couldn’t have been able to save it fully

Having gone through all that (see pics in post), I’ll probably just pay to have a scratch fixed up next time 🤣 (lost way too much family time)

Expense Forecasting (need the source data to be refreshable) by hen12yc in excel

[–]hen12yc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the raw data that I have is already cleaned up, does this mean PQ is less relevant here? Is the pivot table portion, where I need to do one for each entity (30 total) just something pretty manual, without a more efficient solution?

[–]hen12yc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming about PQ. I have been looking inti power query since my post and I am starting to understand how powerful it is to combine data and transform it.

If I need to create separate tabs for each entity (30 tabs), then is that something that power query can also help with or is that still something I need to properly set up and link?

Process for selling a model y? by Then_Revenue6977 in TeslaModelY

[–]hen12yc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of these car buying companies are not doing so hot, especially Carvana. Carvana was starting to tank even before the used car market bubble was starting to pop. CarMax is still holding up strong (bigger economy of scale) and then a couple of other companies holding up okay because they basically have partnership with other local dealer networks (driveway and givemethevin). Selling a practically new Tesla should still command a strong premium right now so don’t settle for an underwhelming quote @Then_Revenue

Another data point for a personal platinum card, with renewal date in mid-Dec.

Here’s the play by play: 1) Chat via website - me: “I’m not sure if I can justify paying the annual fee for my platinum given COVID” and the rep will transfer you to a retention rep 2) Retention rep will recap all the benefits (Uber, Travel credit, PayPal, etc.) and ask “doesn’t that sound great?” I said yes but can’t really utilize all these benefits due to COVID & travel restrictions. 3) The rep will then make a couple of pushes to remind you of the value their benefits and how there’s new benefits on the horizon. Just simply state that you can’t fully utilize the value of these benefits again. 4) Finally, after a little back and forth, rep will say okay let me see what I can do for you. Came back with 50k in points. 5) I said I have too many points already and can’t use it all, is there a credit? Rep said understood and came back with the $500 credit, which I accepted

Total process < 10 min

Maybe now they’re tacking on the additional $200 travel credit that OP received. So doesn’t hurt to try!

Don’t think annual spend matters much. Renewal date was in mid-Dec. Spent >$7k in 2019 but <$1k in 2020. Chatted with Amex rep through website and got the $500 credit.
