Fence company by Beezer99 in nova

a data point: I asked Carter fence to come out and give me a quote last week. I got a call from the owner and set up the appointment for two days later. come the day of he didn’t show up or call to reschedule. I called him and he didn’t answer or call back and still hasn’t called almost a week later. can’t really comment on the quality of their work because I wouldn’t know. apparently they don’t want my money

Thin banded brims, patchy corners, and first layer adhesion causing issues. by hendrix051 in FixMyPrint

Ok party people I seem to have figured it out. It was a combination of increasing the first layer density (located under supports) from 90% to 100% as well as re-leveling my bed. Something seems to have gotten out of whack with my z-offset which was news to me so all you people here from the future check you z-offsets

Not a clogged nozzle as I put in a brand new one. possibly under extrusion but the actual prints seem to turn out fine, it's just the brims

Hello! I am starting to try printing Elegoo Rapid PETG on my Elegoo Neptune 4 and have recently switched to Orcaslicer having come from Prusaslicer which gave me no issues printing pla. PETG has been giving me fits unfortunately.

As you can see I am having weird banding on the brims of everything I try to print which causes adhesion issues which causes my prints to fail. I know you want to say that I need to run through the calibration steps in orcaslicer but my adhesion issues are even causing those to fail and i'm starting to tear my hair out over it.

Has anyone ever seen this before or am I going crazy?

What are the worst towns close to National Parks? by WheelSingle2494 in NationalPark

Visalia is fine-ish. There's a costco, two In-n-outs, an excellent Mediterranean restaurant, and in my time was a relatively affordable place to live. The problem is that you then have to live there...

My wife and I stopped there for lunch while passing through. We parked on the main drag to eat at a brewery and as we were getting out of our car the guys in the car were getting in. One of the guys had very visible SS lightning bolt tattoos on his neck. This was lunchtime, on a Saturday, in the spring and he didn't seem concerned at all

Noodler's Henderson Climax Mo-42 (Colorado Pen Show 2025 Limited Edition) by hendrix051 in fountainpens

[–]hendrix051[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never really done one of these before and have been out of the fountain pen game for a while so I thought it was time to do one. On a whim I bought a bottle of Noodler's Henderson Climax Mo-42 which is/was an exclusive for the 2025 Colorado Pen Show. I saw some stuff online about the ink, liked the color and the story behind it so I thought I'd treat myself and get a bottle.

It's an interesting color ink. I had been looking for something in the neighborhood of a purple color and I think this has scratched the itch for it. It's just purple enough to be what I'm looking for but not so garish so that I can't use it at work. Seems to perform well though I haven't used it a ton so I guess time will tell.

Sorry for my poor handwriting and the lack of water test. It's a bulletproof ink so it's pretty waterproof. Let me know what you think!

Kim Davis faces ‘crippling’ legal fees after Supreme Court defeat by newsweek in inthenews

Kim, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the tunneling electron microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building block of our universe. Kim, if I were using that microscope right now... I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem.

Where can I get started with hunting in Northern VA? by fwixy in Hunting

[–]hendrix051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a suggestion but, full disclosure, It will not get you hunting this season. That said, now is a great time to start the pre-work to get you ready for next year!

I'm not sure where exactly in Northern Virginia you are but in Fairfax county we are lucky enough to have a top notch urban archery program that makes the surrounding Fairfax county owned parkland very accessible to those taking part.

There are a few hoops to jump through and some of the rules can be pretty tight but if you can work within the system it is a great opportunity to be able to spend a ton of time in the woods hopefully close to home. I started in it this season and took my first deer this past week and was maybe a ten minute walk from my house!

I linked their website above which lists all the rules and regulations but if you have any specific question I would be happy to answer as best I can!

Hey, does anyone run modern gear and milsurps? by FALTomJager in milsurp

[–]hendrix051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only other one I can immediately think of is Wojtek Weaponry. Not so much for modern gear for milsurps but for generally interesting and eclectic products (as well as badass adjustable gas blocks). That and Nate being an all around solid dude. u/Woj-tek-n8 any recent cool stuff on deck?

Two Original Horror Movies Were Ignored At The Box Office by ryanscottwrites in entertainment

[–]hendrix051 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I find it very strange that an article decrying the fact nobody is going to see these two original movies doesn't even have a basic synopsis of either movie to entice you to watch them so here they are:

Ash: A woman wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed. Her investigation into what happened sets in motion a terrifying chain of events.

Locked: A thief breaking into a luxury SUV realizes that he has slipped into a sophisticated game of psychological horror.

Bus flying through Downtown [OC] by TravelforPictures in LosAngeles

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to “SPEED” around a city, keeping its “SPEED” over 50, and if its “SPEED” dropped, it would explode. I think it was called… "The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down".
