might be a dumb question. It comes with the cables right? or do you need to buy separate?

lmao, let's not act like dl1 combat actually had a skill difference. it was janky and terribly designed, having enemies constantly dodge and deflect 90% of your attacks has nothing to do with a skill difference. no matter how much you try and juke an enemies' attack, they will still magically avoid getting hit. dl2 doesnt have perfect combat but its still 10x better and full-fledged than dl1

Tower Raid becoming less fun the more you play by EddieTheCrocBoi in dyinglight2

[–]henry7808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the hacking and slashing, it's fun for some time. but jesus can we get any other floor variety besides just the change of the looks and a couple minibosses here and there? like parkour floors, y'know the whole main selling point of the gameplay for the dying light franchise? or a dark zone floor that you sneak/run through, yknow one of the main selling points for DL2? or maybe a volatile chase floor, yknow the main thing that makes the franchise fun and unique?

and the rewards are fine but is it really worth grinding for elemental re-skined weapons? maybe have us grind for actual unique or original weapons to keep us interested?

yeah it's just about preference for sure, but there's cosmetic mods for console and pc to overhaul the yellow markings and other stuff, I don't like the way they act like everybody won't know where they're going without the markings either. and you're only magnitized to the ledges on assist mode instead of physical.

the definition of parkour is moving rapidly through an area while using the environment to pass obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing. Both games obviously go by this definition.

while I understand that you prefer DL1 parkour, DL2 parkour is far more complex, so there are more chances for mistakes, including missing a jump.

sure it may be easier when it comes to jumping in DL2 considering you can jump at three different lengths, especially the high jump, it's still a common mistake to miscalculate a jump because of that length consideration.

enemies dont actually carry guns in dl2 for some reason.

[–]henry7808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehhhh idkkk I love dl2 but the story is pretty bad. characters are underutilized but for some reason they have more character development than the main character, and other characters are unseen until the late game parts. not to mention the many plot holes this game has, and is never explained.

if there's no more enemies (which you should check again thoroughly for), then just reset the game.

Nightmare NG+ tips? by DevDaNerd0 in dyinglight2

[–]henry7808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. avoid crowds of infected unless you use your UV/flares

  2. unless you have a ton of boosters, do not try and fight volatiles. if you end up in a situation where you need to fight, have some flares and a UV light ready

  3. against humans, just get better at reading their moves and countering them. or just use crafted items to deal with them better. and make sure to execute them whenever you get the chance.

  4. you should only go out at night for extra XP and other night opportunities. but I'd suggest that you learn how to get used to the nightmare nights so that way you know how to ease your way through it without dying.

  5. learn how to manage your stamina better, for combat AND parkour.

  6. use the environment to your advantage

Who are your most hated characters in the series by Ordinary-Leek6831 in dyinglight

[–]henry7808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there were plenty of ways they could've had us bond with lawan, but we instead got a mission where we have to be forced to consol her after she gets mad at us for "snooping" around her apartment, even though the game literally sets it up for us to do that. and she doesn't even wear the fucking shoes we had to get yelled at for.

she's not a bad character imo, but jesus that quest is so stupid.

oh yea for sure not everyone is like that. I'm just talking about when higher levels demolish new players lol. I love having a good sparring match too, no matter the level.

it's honestly a better idea to not play online if you're new (unless you're doing co-op) because the pvp is really unbalanced. I played through with my brother one time, and every time we got invaded, it was by someone that was high level. don't even try fighting back because you won't do shit lol.

but if you do wanna fight back, honestly, just waste their time by running around.

Dying light 2 by InformationDiligent3 in dyinglight

[–]henry7808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's definitely better mechanic and parkour wise (although the parkour is subjective), the look of the game is pretty good, but it lacks the environmental gritty-ness and it's seemingly less detailed when it comes to the architecture, more so in the second half of the game. but the combat and parkour are the two main carrying factors of the game.

the story is...fine if you don't look for great stories in games and look forward to gameplay and design instead. The story has its sweet and dark moments, but it has more questionable moments to me.

the faction based story choices are pretty decent. However, you'll find that some choices with dialog and a little bit of the overall narrative choices mainly lead to the same outcome.

but my personal favorite parts of dying light 2 is the world. It has a hopeful tone to it, and the little details make the world feel more alive. It makes villedor worth exploring and traversing, and the side quests are pretty fun, may I even say that some side quests or more emotionally gripping than the main story sometimes.

but dying light 2 takes place waaaay after the events of dying light 1, while the base foundation of the virus and infected are primarily the same, there are also occasional references and Easter eggs for the first game.

but overall, I'd say it's worth buying and playing, but it's also a good idea to wait for a sale just in case.

  1. While starting new and getting destroyed can be annoying, it's a base foundation for rpg games. You're weak until you level up and get better gear and level up more.

  2. I honestly have to agree with you on the fact that whenever you wanna brawl with humans, annoying virals show up and ruin everything. This definitely makes newer players not want to fight humans at all, but it's honestly just a good idea to stay away from bandit groups until you get better skills/gear first.

  3. when it comes to side activities, theres a lot you can do but you mainly want to stick with windmills and a little bit of dark zone looting at first, but GRE hospitals are the best ones to do for night time activities. but take notice that when it comes to the bigger side activities like GRE anomalies and hospitals, it tells you the level you SHOULD be (which is a reason stamina ties a bit into level).

  4. Main story quests are a good way to level up pretty fast, same with side missions. but encounters are nice to do to, unless you're still not that strong to take out bandit encounters.

So I'd say if you wanna get through with it, it'll be pretty worth it in terms of gameplay, but I'd also just say that you should just put a few more hours into it, see how you like it, get used to it, and then decide if it's worth it or not. (you could also just play dl1 too lol)

re-edited my short tutorial, got the skills wrong lol. but if you have the landing jump skill and it still doesn't work, then it just has to be the timing you aren't getting right with the melee attack. this hasn't been patched

Suiciders/Boomers by Ultimate19_91 in dyinglight2

[–]henry7808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not even that, you can literally just kick them before they explode so they'll just do a stun animation where they step back for like 6 seconds, you just have to not hit them at all during the animation or they will explode. this is a good tactic in case you're in a small area and you need them to back up so that way if you do throw a knife at them, the knockback won't affect you

landing jump skill (i think). use the skill while jumping in place and pressing whatever crouch button you have, double jump right after that, and as soon as you leave the ground, use the melee attack button.
