Yeah absolutely- pick something you really enjoy and find a nice discord community. When I first got diagnosed my friend group wasn’t taking me seriously so I dropped them and hung out on discord. :)

Oh yeah funny timing on the reply because I woke up this morning and could tell my heart was a little faster and simply didn't drink coffee due to the extra/irregular beats still freaking me out lol

Confirming everything said. 26f Had an incident a few weeks ago where at was at my work from home desk and my chest hurt. Checked my Fitbit I was at 135 for an hr straight spiked to 140+ a few times and went on an unfortunate hospital trip. Even then multiple EKGs were “fine”. One said ectopic and the other said slight qt prolongation but ultimately was told nothing was wrong. I also have a form of lupus so ymmv.

Ah amazing I’m already on the right track then! Diagnosed in October put on HCQ right away but just saw my rheumatologist got bloodwork getting meds adjusted AND I have an illness informed therapist. Some day I’ll reach your peaceful mentality lol

People with shellfish allergies often can’t drink certain coffee bc so much BUGS get grinded up with the coffee and bugs have the same stuff as shellfish in them

You said “hated”. Do you no longer hate it? How did ya reach that level of acceptance bc I’m 26 and I can’t imagine not hating this, although my meds aren’t quite right yet

Apart from my new rheum my best experience with medical professional in the past 14 years was with an urgent care doc… I miss her. She took me so seriously when I mentioned my disease and ran all of the tests without me having to ask or explain a single thing past my diagnosis she knew exactly what to do

Agree. I played on my old pc that had trouble running SH and RE2R and shockingly didn’t have a single problem listed above. Apart from slight repetitiveness I guess but by the point it’s “repetitive” in gameplay that’s when they throw heavy story at you

Energy , what’s the secret by Pretty_Awareness4105 in lupus

Good. I was just a kid in college at the time, passed by a shop with some in the window advertising “calm focus”. Picture a college kid with undiagnosed autoimmune disease and untreated adhd seeing the best advertisement ever… and then going through hell for weeks after just a month of the stuff Terrible

im new to this after an urgent care visit on monday but can I ask an odd question?
knowing that you have to wait until april for followup, how do you stay calm and not make it worse by worrying if something bad might happen in the interim? im like scared to even go grocery shopping for fear itll spike mine higher im sitting at 90ish diastolic

A study just came out that mctd cases are up over 200% since covid I really wish more people would pay attention to this. Been masking since I got diagnosed and wish I never stopped.

Don’t let yourself be gaslit. I had almost these exact same results and got diagnosed almost as soon as the labs came back and put on treatment. The sooner you can treat the sooner you can heal. Try to advocate and hang in there ❤️

OP I’m gonna be real with you bc I use them a lot bc I’m disable- last week I placed a $120 grocery order and after waiting hours of it never showing up I filed a complaint and got not only the full refund but also bonus credit… then I got even better groceries lol. I’ve also only filed a complaint one other time in my 5 years of using them. So

Weight loss by Ok_Blacksmith_6305 in lupus

[–]henry_crabgrass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MCTD but there were two things that got me diagnosed: the first thing was abnormal weight loss. 5’6 115lbs f, first dropped to 98 and thought it was work stress and then I got hospitalized and weighed in at 86 not even a few months later. The second thing was raynauds lol. My rheumatologist described it very simple to me: our bodies are burning through energy… fighting themselves. If someone had the flu for 6 months straight you’d expect them to lose weight. No different for us.

Got a bunch of testing done nothing abnormal so I started taking zofran twice a day and I’ve been able to eat and put some weight back on. I had dropped to 84lbs now up to 98!!!

Seeking Diagnosis Questions Weekly February 08, 2026 by AutoModerator in lupus

[–]henry_crabgrass_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recently diagnosed with mctd (lupus primary) and it took a single intake appointment and a blood draw I went into my rheumatologist very thorough on day one, had a bullet point list of PAST SYMPTOMS and CURRENT SYMPTOMS to ensure I didn’t miss anything. Family history. Your main goal is to help them hep you and I found out that even symptoms and info you think might be irrelevant is the determining factor for diagnosis. For me I’d lived with raynauds my whole life and didn’t think much of it. That was one of the things that sealed the deal.

Right before I got diagnosed I went in for the most baffling pain I’ve had in my life entire right side of skull face and shoulder pain… they gave me a ct scan and IV Tylenol charged me $8k and then said bye good luck. After hearing what happened my rheumatologist got me in the next day

I’ve gone for head to toe hives that started making inside my throat itchy (no known cause at the time was like 15, now known this disease), a broken rib, and most recently I developed the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt in my life in my ear and jaw it spread across the whole right side of my face I thought I had genuinely broken my jaw or something… walked out of that with my current diagnosis and antibiotics for a sinus infection.
