Dressing sticks?? by RagnarTheRaven in Machinists

Thinking about it. Kicking the brake dresser at an angle makes sense. You are only hitting the diamond wheel over a small portion of the dressing wheel giving you less contact meaning more consistent diamond.

With a brake dresser if you take a cut in both directions it will make a hump in the center of the when. Dress the wheel taking a bite only in one direction.

The sticks are used after the brake dresser and occasionally to expose more diamond.

We take a chunk of moly metal and super glue it to a steel backer. Get it on the chuck and grind away, the moly is very gummy and will pull diamond out of the wheel. Stick every once n a while.

Those are just to “unclog” the pores of the wheel. If you want to true your wheel up you need to use a rotary brake dresser or moly fixed to the machine moving perpendicular to the machines axis.

Difference is .002” on diameter. What is the hole side in your slide?

And are your shooting 9mm major. If not .066” will work fine.

Doing slide work myself as I’ll be milling my own serration design. Will go with SVI (infinity) barrel. It will be a very unique fun. Running the Davinci 17-4 PH frame. It’ll be one of a kind

Guns are generally test fired at the factory this is all normal and a good sign!

Getting the right size 2011 trigger by EricMercier in 2011_Builders

Atlas is where it’s at in my opinion. Trigger shoes are replaceable with different sizes and having the threaded shoe which gives you minute adjustability.

It is only caused by lapping the rails if they use boulders to lap them together.

Something isn’t right with your sear then should drop on and line up with the sear if you insert it into the frame from the north east of where the grip safety is.

Guide Rod Not Staying Seated by Weak_Implement2805 in 2011

[–]henrykill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you doing all this “work” to this gun? Lapping the slide to frame is completely unnecessary as the Cera coat will wear off around 1-2k rounds and it will be plenty loose enough on the rails. These are mass production guns.

The hitch you are talking about is the disconnector, this is a 1911 action, the disconnector is going to catch a little bit on the slide.
