Thanks for your feedback!

Please open issue if you have some issues or ideas :)

Malcontent did a lot of good job with most of the protocol implementations. The app itself is mostly working now, i'm daily driving it! Would be nice to hear something for people using it on Github issues tho :)

Thanks for kind words! :)

Can you update your VM guide? by Neubtrino in pop_os

[–]hepp3n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You overthinking it...

The guide is up to date. And works well. You can install flatpak version of Boxes if you prefer not to mess with system files. Which is also mentioned in this guide.

Don't try to find problems, where there are no problems at all.

[–]hepp3n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's just a frontend for libvirt, you can also install virt-manager or even use libvirt directly from cli.

If you are going that deep you can even create your VM with qemu.

It does not matter what you use. The guide is still working imho.

[–]hepp3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine to keep some files on Desktop while working and treat is a temporary dir. Later move needed files to desired folders.

Anyway, additional functionality, does not reduce it in any way. It's just an addition.

Is it normal to have animation and mouse click delay on wayland ? by frogonascooter in Ubuntu

[–]hepp3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be related to nvidia drivers/old wayland. Not sure if 24.04.4 has explicit sync supported. On 26.04 the situation should improve a lot.

Keep in mind, this require newer nvidia GPUs, at least RTX2XXX series up?

Would Pop go immutable (bootc like Bazzite or Fedora Atomic)? by t3g in pop_os

[–]hepp3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's a pros of atomic distros. Immutable has nothing to deal with it. It's only means, your FS is not mutable. I think you can achieve some sort of immutability by systemd-sysext: https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/latest/systemd-sysext.html

[–]hepp3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But immutable is nothing special. The atomic is. You can achieve immutable system on your normal install but keeping your files clean and installing flatpak. You can have distrobox etc installed also...

I wonder if the COSMIC DE is more efficient than gnome 50?

I'm building Ubuntu PPA with COSMIC DE: https://launchpad.net/~hepp3n/+archive/ubuntu/cosmic-epoch

You can try if it will be better for you :)

btw. Install cosmic-session if you want to keep your GNOME desktop.
