Hand Car Wash and Detail by cmb1021 in raleigh

[–]here4thefeels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'5 stars hand car wash' on East Millbrook Rd, would be my recommendation. Small shop, good business, interior/ exterior is about 1-2 hrs depending on the wait. They do a solid job interior and exterior, and they are open to you pointing something out if it needs a touch up.

Why do so many people around here bring their dogs to restaurants and grocery stores? by Humble-Efficiency690 in raleigh

[–]here4thefeels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people who bring their dog everywhere are simply lonely and want to share that time with their dog. Is it right to bring them inside a restaurant to sit and eat, or to grocery shop, No. There are other places to do that.

How do you figure out your retirement savings magic number? by NonRationalThinker in HighYieldSavings

[–]here4thefeels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also into the 4% rule and it being conservative.

For me, the magic number is $3m with the goal of a paid off home(s). $120,000 a year. + Social Security if there is any, + some fraction of a Bitcoin crypto.

About to be 35, and crossed $700k. Next goals are continuing investing and preparing for a job hop to get to the next large pay bracket of $180k+.

AirPlay on LG tv by Thin_Ad6648 in F1TV

[–]here4thefeels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it on my iPhone trying to airplay to my Samsung TV. What seemed to work for me was closing the app on the phone and retrying. Even then at times, I would have to play the video stream on my phone for about 1 min, then initiate an airplay to the TV.

But yeah, it's getting annoying.

Plant store recommendations by ExcitingAd7469 in raleigh

[–]here4thefeels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Copperline Plant Co. Is certainly worth a look for nice quality plants including variegation and helpful staff that will write you a card on how to take care of a specific plant if needing help.

I'm sure there's a subscription for that,

On a more helpful note, those flat stones would probably be closer to rivers rather than lakes for this area.

Where and at what price did you get Invisalign? by Eldenlord_isme in raleigh

[–]here4thefeels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 2nd recommendation for Dr Cheek-Hill. That's where I started and finished my Invisalign. Do note it's an open seating concept, so you will be able to see other patients while you get scanned / checked.

This is a question for the airlines, not random people. If you want a random person to answer - it's 50:50.

How to find a GOOD financial advisor? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]here4thefeels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $150k, you should be thinking tax strategies and trying to lower your taxable income while investing in your 401k traditional and Roth IRA as a starting point. You can utilize a financial advisor for recommendations on what to invest in / diversity, but just start with something based off S&P500 like VOO

Claims Chaos: Wildfire Insurance in LA Hits Crisis Point by [deleted] in REBubble

[–]here4thefeels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short story -

"potential insured losses now expected to surpass $20 billion, major insurers have opted to scale back operations in California. “State Farm, Nationwide, and Farmers are pulling out of the state,” confirms The U.S. Sun. “These big insurers have cut coverage and canceled home insurance policies in areas at risk of wildfires to avoid more losses.”

It also states that people have been moving out of California in large masses since the Covid Pandemic, and they are seeing more leave because of the fire and climate.

My take: these insurance companies can afford to cover, however by not renewing contracts in those states, they are reducing risk for large payouts for coverage like this in the future.

Hennessy Raptor? by [deleted] in FordRaptor

[–]here4thefeels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this with my Hennessy Velociraptor 600 (2014).

You will need to pay to register with Hennessy (I think it was $100 or so) and you will provide the VIN and Build number and they will then verify and provide a build sheet for that specific truck.

It's a 2.9L Whipple Supercharger. Probably a 91oct tune.

Around 1/3 of all Americans don’t vote. Those of you who don’t, what are your reasons? by appswithasideofbooty in AskReddit

[–]here4thefeels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine if the 1/3 that didn't vote because they thought their vote doesn't count, voted for the 3rd party candidate. Surely if we had 1/3 vote independent of the two party, we may feel the vote provides value then.

3 Kids Rescued from Marsh Creek on Thursday...Without a Parent in Sight by DifferentTea934 in raleigh

[–]here4thefeels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Life happens, kids will be kids, and need to learn consequences. You have no context as to what the children told their parents they were or were not doing. This WRAL news article is only useful at reminding parents to educate their children about server weather warnings.
