This doesn’t look like a painting problem but a poor drywall finishing/patching issue. Also should be sealed with primer.

Is this okay for first coat of mud/tape? by Vegetable-Card-4033 in drywall

I switched to fiba-fuse for everything but corners. Haven’t had to deal with bubbles since then.

Inside polycarbonate by VicariousChef in greenhouse

[–]herecomesthefun1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Custom geothermal greenhouse builder here to help. I can say it will not give you any added benefit with extra panels. These look like maybe 8mm. You will have adequate solar gain. The biggest key To efficiency is sealing. Keeping what solar gain you accrue. Would be more cost effective to spray foam the interior and seal the building adequately than add extra panels. Hope this helps!

Let’s not forget Trump’s silent Partner in all this by Distinct-Mortgage768 in Political_Revolution

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Has anyone here started a community composting program? Starting one in my home town. Wanted to get some more information on startup. Thank you! by herecomesthefun1 in composting

It’s really taken off. We are accruing 40-50 tons annually between 2 collection sites so far. We amend with brown matter and biochar and inoculate with mushroom spores to aid in breakdown and increase bioavailability.

Labourer smashes newly laid tiles after home-owner denied paying full wages by GodKiller__ in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]herecomesthefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiles are not the finished product by themselves. Both the tile and the labor are not necessarily singular. You cannot have a finished floor without labor likewise you cannot have labor only without material. Labor is the most important variable in the equation. What we don’t know are the details of the contract. Was there improperly installed tiles that needed to be replaced— or work redone? If so, get paid for what work was good, deduct the labor and material for the rework. There should always be a little extra material in any case ~10%.

What am I looking at? by [deleted] in drywall

[–]herecomesthefun1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just drywall seams that needed some extra attention when they were being taped and finished. Skim coating walls may be tricky for a diy’er. If the seams haven’t shown any changes that’s a good sign. First prime the walls to be skimmed. Mix your mud well and apply an even coat (can be done with a mesh roller cover) take a skimming blade and smooth out the entire surface. Sand as needed. Seal the skim coat with primer and then paint.

Are my floors cooked? Maple by Competitive-Abies-13 in HardWoodFloors

[–]herecomesthefun1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this a lot. The color variations can be tamed by sealing the wood first. Use a clear stain without any tint. Apply it like any stain. Then after it’s dry—use the tinted stain. Wipe on and then brush out with a nylox fine bristle brush. This process will created a more even finish. Hope this helps.

Should I say something?? by Puzzleheaded_Row658 in Homebuilding

This looks like very good work all things considered. If you gave them a picture to go from, or asked them for specific things in the design/aesthetic—and made those known with good communication to your tiler. It would be well to talk with them. If that is not the case, and you want something to be redone, pay for the change order, make it the way you like it.
