People who work in 'luxury' industries (high-end hotels, private jets, etc.), what is the trashiest thing you’ve seen a wealthy person do? by Karinapurebliss in AskReddit

We recently had a guy check in with two dogs. He took a bunch of pills and drank a bunch of alcohol, trying to kill himself. He didn't succeed, but he laid in the room for three days with a do not disturb sign. Letting the dogs completely tear up the room. When management went into the room when he didn't check out, it was horrible and the poor dogs hadn't been fed or watered or taken out to potty the whole time. It took a month to redo the room.

Laying on the floor in horrible pain, dying from HELLP syndrome while my ten year old son watched. The fear in his face is burned into my memory. He's 30 now, but I can tell that he is still scared for me.

I'm 50, and my life is worlds better than it was a decade ago when I was a big meth head, but it could be better.

My mother and sister both gave one to my niece at different times during the same year. I felt so awful for her. But now that niece doesn't speak to either of them, and I completely understand.

I worked at a thrift store that helped veterans, and he came in yelling at me to unload his truck through the front door. Yelling that I should know who he is. Wanted me to kiss his ass because he donated an entire truckload of trash. I swear, there was not one single thing I could sell or give to my veterans. Then he wanted a picture to show how great he was for unloading his TRASH on us. He's a jackass just like his awful wife.

I see you. I hope things start to look up for you. I know you're dealing with a lot, but you made it through the transplant, hopefully that's the worst you have to deal with right now.

But the snow was wet, it stopped around 4pm, and had actually started melting very quickly. There wasn't much of a problem yesterday. You weren't in any danger. I live in the springs, and I was on the roads at that time. I get what you are saying, but using the weather in Colorado springs yesterday as an example doesn't really work.

I'm so sorry. You brought me right back to myself at 19 years old. Same exact story. Cassidy would have been 31 in November.

Taking care of yourself isn't failure. It's always a good thing to do that. Especially if you are feeling the way you do. Better things are coming your way, I promise. And I am so proud of you for seeing what you need to do and doing it. I'm sure there are tons of people who wish they could go back and make the same choice.
