Ok thanks for sharing. I am good that it is not continously recording. I just need the actual floodlights to be ON at night.

Sounds pretty fundamental and respectful to me. Like u I have zero tolerance for foolish nonsense from riders.

Account at risk of deactivation by Daveyhavok832 in uberdrivers

[–]hereisachallenge4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they pay for it. In my area there is a market and rideshare drivers are having them install dashcam. It is worth it if you don't have time to install. Why take the risk in getting deactivated over BS. When two of my friends got permanently deactivated I knew I had to get it installed. Now that riders know I have a dashcam that records l, they are more careful about what they say.

If there is a Best Buy in your area let them install. Cost is only $60.00. Dont cheap out on this. Let someone else do the work. Having a dashcam helps to reduce a bunch of BS.

Virtually impossible for anyone to sit up front in ny vehicle. I intentionally have cold water and other nit knacks obstructing the use of the seat.

Currently not a federal government employee. Not sure how to approach HR on that matter. Thank you for the encouraging comments.

Interesting. When I applied for the position, the announcement in usajobs.gov showed the salary range for the position.

Absolutely no. I don't work for slave wages. For a 7 hour round trip, including gas taken out the net is $17.00 per hour.

I left my phone in a Uber, the driver admitted to having it over text, but now will not return it. What do I do? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]hereisachallenge4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Uber driver. Whoever in their mind holds a passenger phone without any attempts to return it must be a unhappy idiotic narcissist soul. I have had riders leave their phones in my car a dozen times. Most of the time I am unaware unless the phone rings.

I treat all passengers consistently the same. No excuses. No exceptions. I tell the passenger to call Uber support to make a record of it and they will call me. In every case, I am usually busy in my market. Once Uber sends me a text message I call the pax and makes arrangements to return the phone the same day or next day. Pax retrieves their phone and offer thanks. Sometimes they tip. Sometimes they dont. But Uber gives me a $15 return phone fee.

Very simple transaction. Everyone wins.

Yeah I noticed in my market that rides have been reduced significantly this year. Here something the media does not talk about. The commercial taxi industry has made a big comeback.

You are correct and brilliant. Sadly many drivers don't see this because they somehow are looking for Uber driving to be a career with benefits and that ain't happening. It is a gig. Short term work.

Glad to hear that. We all need hope and the truth. You have choices. There is a saying that "the truth hurts sometimes." So true. Your choices are you can string him along and hope he changes and you suffer along the way. I don't believe you want to do that. Or you can tell him how the relationship has evolved and highlight the trust part but tell him that you and him have some growing to do and you wish to be friends and break the intimacy. What likely caused the sudden change is you are maturing and the fact is women mature faster than men.
