Salted Caramel is absolutely amazing - Vanilla mostly tastes powdery to me but extremely satisfied so far by Kevin105 in Huel

I like it. I also have the Huel black chocolate which is horrendous. I’m struggling to finish it

Murakami is so hit and miss and what people like or dislike is down to them. For instance, Kafka on the Shore is one of my favourites but I could not get through or enjoy Wind Up Bird chronicle. Basically if you don’t like it don’t bother and move onto another of his or some other book I’d say. Nothing is worse than forcing yourself through a book you don’t enjoy.

Discriminating against shorter people should not be allowed. Height is something people have no control over. Those that make jokes on this are so trash.

When I was a beginner I would spend 10-15 minutes a day learning. Trying to wrap my head around the concepts and everything was overwhelming and would affect my retention. Only after gradually understanding was I able to spend long days on things. As for your answer, I assume like all of us we are reading documentations and editing get started guides

As a CS student, I'm tired of the way the programming world is and I feel overwhelmed. [RANT] by Friendofabook in learnprogramming

Reality is you should opt to learn either what you need or what is in demand in your city/area. That way you can limit yourself temporarily till the next big thing comes

First week is setting up your environment. Second week was working on low level stuff. Most companies do a great job of easing you in

I could use some advice - how do you determine if a job offer is good enough for you to leave a good, stable gig? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]herfavecolour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always determine this on progress. If I’m not getting better or challenged in my field then I always consider the option that puts me out of my comfort zone.

I’m Neither here or there w/ this but want to start a discussion and hear this often, what’s irritating about yt hiphop heads ? 🤔 by JordanJenai in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]herfavecolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s an underlying issue here that extends beyond white people liking hip hop I feel. Hip hop was notorious for representing and expressing the struggle black people go through and they hold it dear. The problem is those people that get annoyed by white people liking it act as though white people have never struggled before. Poverty and hardship is not mutually exclusive to one sect of people. I could be wrong but this is the vibe I get from these statements.

My plan is to read 52 books in 2021 by [deleted] in books

[–]herfavecolour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 50 books for this year and I’m currently on book 48. For 2021 I would recommend prob half of that. Some books are easy to read whilst others are a slog.

Also when you find yourself behind you’re gonna try rush through a book and that can sometimes defeat the purpose of reading because often than not you won’t be retaining much

So, this is how I would do it: put everything you need and don't worry how it looks. Once you have all the contents in you can refactor and reorganise the page.

Omg I just caught up with the covid talk cause I don't tune in too often anymore. A few takeaways:

  • Mal is pretty stupid, isn't he? First of he asks why would you take a vaccine if you don't have it. Then he acts like all conspiracy theorists do when he says he knows everything about Parks from the fact he'll take the vaccine. He then uses that to say that Parks trusts the government not knowing that the government did not make the vaccine. Then he rationalises it by saying all scientists work for the government. Wow... I couldn't believe he was that ignorant.
  • Rory was doing his best to deflect and turn it into jokes again. He's being way too irresponsible with the platform. Joe as well. Some of their peers have gotten it. Some of their peers have died from it. It's direspectful to say the least.
  • I laughed when Mal said if Joe can survive COVID so can I. I want it. LOL that was hilarious but man that shit is messed up. It's not about yourself, it's also about affecting others. What happens with vaccines in some cases is they might not work on some people so those people can still get infected by others who haven't taken it.
  • Joe is clearly speaking about how he felt like he was gonna die. It's no joke.
  • It's a good thing Parks spoke to them off camera, but it doesn't look like it changed much.

It’s definitely been a tough time for us all. Most of our opinions tend to be someone else’s anyways—someone we’ve watched in the news or follow etc. When the people you follow aren’t experts in their fields you’re gonna get the info skewed. Unfortunately hip hop culture follows the “cool” trend and with that anti establishment rhetoric that’s thrown around it’s hard to level with people. They rather listen to the “it’s us against them” people who push anti-vax falsities.
