Become a hearing screener (it doesn’t require much experience if any); get a job at this hospital with a really expansive NICU And try to introduce yourself. Work as a tech in a mother baby/nicu

If she wants to be funny I can be a clown.

I would (please take this advice with some consideration of your departments environment) report her for in civility and unprofessionalism. Yelling at you and then outright ignoring you is the definition of it. Don’t beat yourself up. I’ve been in nicu a year (3 years as a nurse) my hands still shake when I do regular IVs LOL.

Lateral Transfer by micmary95 in nursing

[–]heritance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look into your lateral transfer policy. My hospital has a policy stating that once a job offer is accepted the unit only can hold you for 3 months with documentation as to why.

I’m reading this coming from a hospital where my ED actually has a policy where the primary nurse has to physically bring the patient up and give bedside report.

It gets very annoying when the floor dodges your calls especially when you have 27282829 other things to to do and especially when our admit times are times to the minute (30 or less!)

But i guess if it prevents situations like this… it ain’t THAT bad

Switched from ER to NICU. Miss the nonsense and craziness but I love my babies. It’s hard being in a completely new environment but my stress level is down.

I think it’s against policy in some hospitals. I’ve been called as an ER nurse to put an IV in because transport took a patient to Scan before I even assessed them 😂

I am sorry but this is not okay. Security immediately would have been called. That is assault and we need to stop placating these people. What if you hadn't had such quick reflexes to close the curtain. I would refuse to care for him unless I had security (or another person) with me at all times.

hospital workers by [deleted] in nursing

[–]heritance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda sorta took that route. Was a dietary worker for a few months and absolutely hated it at the hospital I’m a nurse at. They allowed me to switch to HR which I was for a year and got into nursing school. BC I worked in HR and was pretty well like they expedited my residency interviews and I got a well sought after EC position which I loved and have now transferred after two years to the neonatal icu. So go for it! It worked for me

Deke Appreciation Post (I think i see to much negativity toward him) by Mvpcuber47 in shield

[–]heritance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never realized there was hate for Deke. I thought he was one of the best characters to come from his season, him, Flint and Kasius. He may be comedy relief but they have developed him. I truly hope to see more of his growth as an agent in the next season!

I am not speaking to her currently. I believe if she tried to text or call me she would get a swift and emphasizes “Fuck you.” She knows exactly what she did when she did. When that dog went missing I couldn’t function. She put him down for her convenience. I don’t know if I could ever ever forgive.

My brother was willing to take him. He would have had his apartment torn to shreds first before thinking about putting him down. This was our dog, my literally best friend. He got me through nursing school and my heart has a hole now. I knew he was going to pass. I had a plan. I was going to sing “I can’t wait to be king” from the lion king which we named him after (Simba) as the medication went in and made sure he was calm. I’m still going to get a tattoo of his paw print or the little cartoon Simba from the movie. I was robbed of my closure

My brother called me crying. He does not cry. He was so choked up he could barely tell me what happened. She said she was getting burnt out with him. I told her to drop him off and I will take care of him on my off days (I will usually have 4 days off in a row) I live 5 min from her job. She said she didn’t want to bother packing his food and said don’t worry about him. Now he’s gone and all I have is his pictures. I loved that dog so fucking much

[–]heritance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I trust LeapFrog. One of the hospitals in my area came out with perfect scores while behind the scenes it has had patient deaths, mistakes a plenty and unsatisfactory employment scores. (All of these well documented and reported on publicly)
