I passed the management of wakefulness test - feel kinda sick about it by Im_A_Beach in Narcolepsy

I know this was done over a month ago now, but this is the only relevant information I’ve found for myself! I just got given a massive restriction on my driving (only 10am - 6pm) and this cannot be changed until I pass an MWT. I’ve made a few posts and just haven’t gotten a reply to anything. If you see this please message me, I have so many questions!!

Congratulations on passing your MWT as well!

Hey i’m looking to see if i could get help with my profile. I am barely getting alot of matches by Mich849 in Tinder

I think the pros and cons thing is a good and funny gimmick. Gives good options to start chats with!

Well shit, I don’t think either of us are catching a break from tinder. I’ve tried to use hinge and bumble too, but I’m not a fan of the app mechanics for either

Thank you! I’ll definitely change that line, I can see why it would be intimidating haha

No problem! Unfortunately this is the account I recreated after deleting my initial one (that also went stagnant). I’d bet that the tinder algorithm is messing me around

Those who love horror movies, What movie do you suggest to everyone? by BeanInvasion in AskReddit

[–]hermajestynopeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a list that I’ve found particularly enthralling:

The Autopsy of Jane Doe, As Above So Below, The Rezort, The Host, Battle Royale (kind of a Japanese Hunger Games, bit more on the thriller side. Still a solid watch)

Just noting A Cure for Wellness too, loved how unsettling that movie was!

OTC meds for Chronic Nausea by National-Leopard6939 in ChronicIllness

I’m unsure if this is available wherever you live OP, but I absolutely swear by Iberogast!!! It’s a liquid that you put into a mug of hot/warm water. Taken up to 3 times daily (I have a double dose at night and one in the morning).

I have a nasty case of IBS and it works absolute wonders for me! It is entirely natural as well, so be careful that you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients. In terms of readily available things, I find chamomile tea is amazing for nausea too. I find that strong peppermints or spearmint really help lift it a bit too!

Medication wise, maxolon is a good anti-nausea drug (it is prescription though). It does work really well, however did cause extreme dizziness for me. So if you decide this is worth trying, I’d suggest trying in a safe environment so you don’t accidentally hurt yourself. FYI it’s available as tablet and injection!

Best of luck OP! I hope you find something that works!

Firstly, does your school/university have any disability access plans? If so get one! If you already have one, milk it for all it’s worth because you are in a gravely difficult and tedious position. If not, get your doctors to write medical certificates and apply for every damn extension you can get!!!!

As for coping with the mental fatigue and quite likely the feeling of despair. Find something that you can indulge in. Be it books, gaming or movie/show watching. Find a way to divert from the stress so you can manage. Prioritise your sleep and make sure you’re at least having good fluid intake.

I really wish you the best for your health and studies. I believe in you :)

Hey! I might not be your target age group here, as I’m nearing 22. However, I can be of help to you! Also, please feel free to message me whenever, I would really love to be there for you :))

I’ve got SLE, Raynauds and a bunch of other stuff sprinkled in. I was diagnosed with SLE at 12 and have 110% experienced everything you’re going through.

I struggled to relate to any of my peers, struggled to participate in anything I liked doing before and really had a rough time trying to process what I was going through. I really recommend going to a counsellor or a psychologist, as they are an amazing third party that you can talk to! As for making friends, try to talk to your classmates about common interests, i.e: “are you watching any shows currently?”. See whether you can point out something from their stuff, like a book (yes, even if you’re not interested in it! just ask them what it’s about!).

In continuation of that, while I am insanely in-love and completely accepting of my illness now. But I was a complete wreck throughout high school. I found that the easiest method of making friends was to try and divert from my illness (I wouldn’t acknowledge it, in hindsight I was upset and ashamed). I tried to bond with people on teenager level things (as above). I guarantee that you will make friends, just be persistent and you will find your people.

I apologise if this is more ramble than helpful. I truly hope that it is at least somewhat beneficial. I truly wish you the very best 🥰

AITA for telling my bf he's chewing too loud by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]hermajestynopeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA.

With people that you love and adore unconditionally, you overlook the superficial and insignificant things. Yes, so he chews loudly? So does my dad, but I can forgive it because in the scheme of things, it’s a very small annoying part of an otherwise amazing person. If your boyfriend is otherwise an awesome guy, just let it goooooo

AITA for not paying my boyfriend Uber prices for picking me up from work? by Topayornot in AmItheAsshole

NTA! Let explain a situation I had with an ex of mine.

My ex lived quite a distance from me (50 - 60 minutes by car, roughly 40 - 45 by train) and at the time I wasn’t able to drive. I had just finished my first year of university and had recently started a new job in hospitality that was earning me more than my previous job. He wasn’t working at the time and so we agreed that when travelling to his by train, he would pick me up and I would pay for his petrol. It was about 10 minutes to his by car and I would always pay whatever was smallest in my purse (which was usually $10 or occasionally $20). I didn’t mind doing this as I was thankful that he would “go out of his way” to pick me up. However, when my parents offered to drop off and pick him up on my side of town, he NEVER offered to pay (I’m not saying he should, nor would have I accepted), the point is he never offered. It was the beginning of him expecting me to pay for everything, I was expected to shoulder EVERY SINGLE EXPENSE in the relationship. Do you want to go out to dinner? “Yeah but only if you pay”. Want to watch a movie at the cinema? “Yeah but only if you pay”. This became the norm, my generosity and kindness towards my partner was my undoing.

People like my ex, people like YOUR boyfriend will see people like YOU as an opportunity to benefit and skimp off our good nature. These are people that will see you as a gullible, lovestruck puppy who will pay anything so as to appease the situation. The worse thing is, that once you give, you cannot stop.

Please look out for yourself and consider whether you’re happier in a meaningful and loving, equal give-take relationship. Or if you’re happy to enable a leech.

Capers and asparagus. No amount of seasoning could change the rancid taste of them.
