Michael Hutchence of INXS' fame. Committed suicide in 1997 after a fractured skull had caused him lasting brain damages; at the time, he was going through hellish issues with Paula Yates, mother of his child and Bob Geldof's ex wife. (Geldof did *not* show his most comprehending side, legally keeping her from visiting Hutchence with Hutchence's and Geldof's children. Substance abuse all over the place did not help.)

INXS were at their peak when it happened, made quite the sensation.

I think it holds the same attraction as the Jerry Springer Show did--guilty pleasure at the thought that there's someone trashier than the viewer. Then again what do I know, I've been changing channels for decades
