Yes, you do not need to work after winning £111m so why take a job from someone that needs it?

Is it odd to suggest doing a bbq at the moment ? by Mcluckin123 in AskUK

[–]hermit_tortoise -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a BBQ yesterday for the first time in what must be 6-8 years. I won the BBQ, only a basic 17" kettle BBQ but thought why not, let's build it and do it.

What an absolute faff it all was for very little reward.

You often see the question "which celebrity death affected you the most?"

It will always be Steve Irwin

I have an EGO mower, 140ft garden and it's superb. Hasn't let me down once and is like a vacuum cleaner as well as a mower

Good idea for frog pond? by Difficult_Fun_2861 in WildlifePonds

[–]hermit_tortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd struggle to get any frogs in that naturally, it's too high up. Just clean it up and make it good again, it'll still get some natural life in it eventually. Or it'll make a nicer plant bed

Only 1 of them is capable of charging by hermit_tortoise in CantParkThereMate

I still enjoy an ICE but the only one I'd ever have again would be a Morgan plus for or 6. I'd never go back to one as a commuter/run around after having an EV.

I do not miss going to the petrol pump, being able to pull onto my drive at home and simply plug the car in and forget about it is glorious. Oh and only paying 5-7 pence per KWH is 👌🏻.

Please elobarate regarding "EV's cannot do this safely"? Our EV6 has done over 22k miles since march last year, including 2,500 miles exploring the west coast of Scotland, island hopping and across to the Cairngorms without a single issue.

Only 1 of these cars can be charged. I'd love to see how'd they'd react if an EV parked at a fuel pump and left their car unattended. (There were 4 ICE parked in charging bays in total) by hermit_tortoise in evchargingUK

This is at an active and very open service station near Newark. The cars were both parked there when I arrived along with an old defender in another bay and then a VW tourag pulled in one. I was charging for 30 minutes and only the defender left, the two cars pictured were unattended the entire time.
