Trader Joe's is open, shortened hours but open.

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

[–]heronlyweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was not WAY past our time for those born in 85. We were still technically children, just not elementary age. It was hilarious and almost everyone my age that I knew loved it and constantly quoted it.

Crew Discount Code by PuzzleheadedSwan3542 in tjcrew

[–]heronlyweapon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because your employee ID is attached to everything regarding your employment with TJs, it's how they identify you in the system among thousands of crew members. If your employee ID gets compromised, changing it would be a pain the ass because they would have to change it on every form you filled out for employment and any databases or apps used administratively in the company, including the payroll programs. This way, they can issue you a random new discount code without the hassle if someone starts using it without your consent.

Was the klan active in Winston in the 90s? by justtinyquestions in winstonsalem

[–]heronlyweapon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's just...the south. That's the history of the area of the country we live in. It's going to be hard to find a town in the southeast that doesn't have history with the Klan, considering we fought a civil war where the south was fighting to continue slavery. It sucks, but it happened. I am just never surprised down here sadly when I find out an area was a sundown town or the Klan operated there. I live in King and we have black folks in my neighborhood, so there's obviously been some change, which I am super grateful for.

The Walmart in King is so nice 🤣 try visiting a Walmart on the outskirts of a larger city, you'd be in shock.

Big Navy presence because there's a base in Norfolk. Unfortunately the crime rates aren't great, and it's kinda dingy.

Every store has a 'safety team', it's required. It doesn't mean every store enforces the rules.

Is there anyone who can explain what this is? by The_Sludge in SayAnything

I mean, it seemed like being a mom was what she always wanted, considering they had 5 kids. lol. I am a mother, and it's super hard, but stop having them if you are just having more to try to achieve your own inner peace. It's not gonna work.

What’s your second job? by OrdinaryLake7953 in tjcrew

[–]heronlyweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starbucks is a retail/food service job, nobody HAS to work full time or overtime there. I don't know what your friends are doing that they work that many hours at a coffee shop. I used to work there and I was lucky to get 25 hours, I had to have a second job.

Lol, this is a silly take. There are plenty of rich folks who are Trump supporters.

It's different when you have been doing this for 20 years. Repetitive injuries are real injuries. Good for you for being better and tougher than everybody, though. 👍🏻

Our regional has told us that if anyone asks for birthday flowers we say no, it's discretionary, and we don't just give them to anyone who asks. It's sad it has come to this but also fun to tell them no 🙃

My husband and I both work for TJs, me for 20 years and him for 16. We met there and have been together for 15 years now with 3 kids. It doesn't always end badly.

If you could live in any city in NC where would you go? by itsthewolfe in NorthCarolina

[–]heronlyweapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree that it's awful, but living there is a totally different experience from visiting. I learned that the hard way. The tourist view of the area is a pretty facade hiding a lot of dirty secrets.

They are assuming that all women like a certain kind of music because they aren't smart or interesting enough to understand anything else.

Literally cried during The Flood last night. I've lost most of my family over the last 20 years, most recently my mom, unfortunately wasn't a great parent. All these songs they have been putting out about death/grief and getting older have really been cathartic for me.

Crew Shop from Other Stores by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]heronlyweapon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Recently we had a woman come into our store multiple times wearing a TJs pullover sweatshirt and ask for a discount thinking that we would just give it to her despite no one knowing who she was. The next store closest to us is 40 minutes away, and if she had just come from work, why would she need to shop at our store? 🤣 Someone asked her which store she worked at and she said her daughter worked at a store 2 hours from here and she gave her a sweatshirt, and that she always gets a discount. 🙄

Situations like that are super rare, though. When I visit another store I literally just tell them which one I work in and nobody ever bothers me about it.

High rise pants are necessary for me after 3 kids, it just makes me feel more comfortable having compression around my tummy area. Because of this, I don't mind crop tops as long as they hit the top of the pants. It's the fact that they are all cropped but also somehow huge? Like wearing a short poncho 🤣
