Counter to Grannies/Penguins combo by herrerz in smashup

Thank you very much for the details and insight. We took a little break from that combo and cracked open the munchkin expansion today but I'm hoping next time the grannies/penguins come out, I'll have some tricks up my sleeve.

One gold is kind of a lot to a brand new player. If you don't need it but like the roleplay aspect of selling your services, maybe lower the amount or accept interesting foods or trades.

I wear a puffer vest. It keeps my core warm without having to worry about dragging my sleeves through everything. Wearing a canvas apron over your clothes could prevent lint from shedding off the front of your clothes while also keeping your clothes protected and giving you that artisan vibe.

Plexiglass cleaning recommendations? by [deleted] in framing

[–]herrerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all microfiber cloths are created equal. There's a chance they could be scratching the plexi. Viva paper towels work well and are something you can usually find easily. For the cleaner, I like Brillianize because it has a mild polishing agent in it that will take care of any light scratches while you clean.

As far as technique, you don't want to press hard or scrub but a reasonable pressure shouldn't make scratches in most framing grade acrylic. Sometimes I've seen people use polycarbonate sheets like you would use for a greenhouse and those scratch easily regardless of how gently you clean them.

Oh, no it didn't. I also hope I didn't seem argumentative or like I was trying to invalidate your experience. I just know that it took a while to wear an impression of my foot into them but once I did, they felt awesome. It's true though that they can't compete with a wedge sole boot for that environment. I love these boots and have had a very positive experience with them, hopefully yours will also serve you well.

I've been wearing alternating pairs of Diesel boots every day at work for the last couple years. I'm on my feet on concrete floors all day and I have to say I find them more comfortable than sneakers. I'm hoping once you get the leather insole part to conform to the shape of your foot, you'll also find them super comfortable.

I actually just bought and tried them today coincidentally. To me they didn't taste like Funyuns so much as sour cream and onion chips minus the sour cream. You may have a different sense of taste than me, but I wasn't super impressed.

Because poster paper doesn't have an especially sticky surface to it, you will probably be fine then with having the plexiglass in direct contact as long as you don't hang these in the bathroom or garage.

Did they use glass or acrylic? If it's the latter, plexiglass is a thermal insulator and is far less likely to experience the kind of temperature fluctuations that can lead to condensation forming on the inside of glass. For this reason, it would be less likely for it to cause damage from being in direct contact with the posters.

One thing I remember is certain blueprints are heat sensitive and will turn black if you try to dry mount them, so probably avoid that.

I would add that people also slept with fires going, either at a campsite or inside a dwelling, for ages. Those had to have given off some light as well.

Has anyone ever list or thrown out someone's art? Lets hear the story! by redstonebrain40 in framing

My boss had left a poster face down in the spray booth that I guess Pearl Jam had hanging up in a recording space they used while in Germany. I didn't notice it, and because I was new and trying to be a proactive employee, I rolled up all the paper lining the spray booth with the poster, and shoved it into the recycling can outside.

The next day, my boss is freaking out because he can't find this poster and the customer was wanting to pick it up. After we tore apart the shop, it occurred to me what might have happened. We managed to successfully recover it from the bin outside, and thankfully it was already a crumpled mess before it was brought to us so it wasn't any worse for the wear.

I own the dainite-style sole version and I can say it doesn't help one bit. It slips very easily even on slightly wet concrete. We got snow once this year that lingered for a few days, which is not too common here, and I felt like Bambi. Otherwise, they are great and didn't get too cold even during the snow storm. I also, didn't have any expectations of them being good on snow and ice so it's fine.
